Adobe Analytics version of Google Analytics Goals

Hi, we're in the process of moving from Google Analytics to Adobe Analytics.

In GA we have several goals that we use on a regular basis. For example we use goals in the Channels report to see the conversion rate to a specific goal from each channel.

Most of our goals are destinations such as a thank you page.

How can I implement this in Adobe Analytics? Success Events?

Can I use this the same way I use goals in GA?

Ali

Hi Ali,

One option that is similar to the Google Analytics goal setup in Adobe Analytics is to use Processing Rules to set an event based on a page URL loading. Note, you'll need to be certified to use processing rules.

In the example screen shot I've set Event5 to a Custom Value "1" on the Thank You page load (Page URL equals mysite.com/thankyou).

One final thing to note is that Google Analytics goals are tracked once per session. The example I provided will increment an event with a value of "1" each time the Thank You page is loaded in Adobe Analytics.

Best,

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

Thanks for the reply. I have about twenty (each) custom Traffic/Conversion Variables to track various activity on our main site.

I do have access to Processing Rules, but I just got done setting Success Events in all 50 or so Event Based Rules in DTM.

As you mentioned, these counters are not unique to visits. I really expected that I would be able to use my Conversion Variables for this purpose.

For the most part, goals will convert to Success Events, but the two tools are pretty different in how they are implemented.  You may want to check out my book on Adobe Analytics (http://bit.ly/sitecatalyst-handbook) before going to far with your implementation.
