Alerts for specific hour ranges of the day

It would be really nice to allow the possibility of selecting specific hour ranges of day for alerts

For example, I set an hourly alert when page views below 1000, but it concerns me only if it happens during the day time (from 8am to 8pm). It’s normal that page views decrease during the night, while every morning I have to delete the 12 meaningless alerts received.

Hopefully we could make the alert activated only for a specific hour ranges of each day !!!!

I’ve seen some post about activating alerts only on certain days of week, same idea.

Thanks

I've tried applying a segment for 'exclude out-of-hours' based on Hour of Day dimension, to the new(ish) 'intelligent alerts' and found that the number of alerts *increased* even for those that were based on number of occurrences (I thought it might make sense, for alerts based on % thresholds, because the algorithm might be training itself only on the core business hours too, resulting in a more sensitive threshold or something...).

I tried using a segment to 'include office hours' (in case it was the 'exclude' that caused a weird problem) but it gave the exact same result.

I think this is an Adobe bug, so I'm raising a ticket.

Has anybody tried using the new "Hour of Day" dimension? Might be a little work in setting it up, but seems like it would work.

It would be great to set alerts by time of day.  For example, if I am monitoring conversion rate, I might change the threshold based on the time of day (daytime vs, latenight).

Please create the ability for custom alerts by specific hour of the day, day of week or day of the year alerts. Our commerce engine would benefit greatly from this enhancement.

I'd like to be able to set a different alert for different hours too. For example, maybe 1000 for 11am, 12pm, and 1pm; but only 500 at 8am, 9am, and 10am.

@wfang This is exactly what we've been wishing for over here.

At the moment, you can only set alerts for the end of the month, week, day, or hour. I think it might be useful to have an alert at the beginning of the day based on the past 24 hours or how ever long, so that we can take action on important problems that might come up immediately. It might even be good to be able to specify a time of the day that you want to receive an alert if such a situation was to be true, so you can coordinate an alert with other work related activities.

Or if using traffic as the metric -  be able to compare to a day or a week prior.

Then can use % difference and not get extra alerts for night time or weekend fluctuations.

Exam[ple    alert me when traffic is x%  different than this hour last week.

Love the % CONVERSION ALERT!

Completely agree with all of the above...

would also like to be able to alert on conversion percentages as these are often more stable. e.g. of those started an order, % that completed an order - alert if less than 50%.

Although you have alerts that check total site traffic at end of each hour, I want more flexibility.  Our site traffic varies greatly between M-F 9-5 compared to evenings & weekends.  I want to set different thresholds.  1M page views in an hour at night something is wrong with implementation.  1M pageviews in an hour during the day isn't so unusual.  I want the flexibility to set up TIME frames & specific thresholds for alerts.
