Automatic, rule-based SAINT classifications based on specific criteria

SiteCatalyst should offer the ability to automatically classify "key" values that match a specified set of criteria. For example, if the key contains "12345," the campaign is automatically set to "Winter 2010 Campaign." This should also allow the use of wildcards (e.g., "12*45") and/or regular expressions.

Someone marked this as "Implemented", but I can't tell who or when.  Is this because of "SAINT bernard", or is there other support (and if so, could someone paste a link to that information?)

Hi Ben,

yesterday I started a chat session with the live support and the agent asked me what the SAINT rule builder is! The chat session turned over into a training for your support. Explaining what the "add rule button" means was the level we where talking... definitely not what I expected.

Regards, Hjalmar

Hjalmar: The ClientCare team is supposed to have been trained on the Rule Builder. If there are specific questions that they could not answer, please let us know and we'll follow up with them.

As far as bugs are concerned, as I'm sure you know, we don't follow up on bugs reported solely on the Idea Exchange. You'll want to make sure that you report those through ClientCare so that we can investigate.

I'm glad that Omniture now has the SAINT rule builder. Unfortunately it is very buggy and the Omniture Support agents don't have a clue what the SAINT rule builder is... where to complain now?

Any updates?

Automatic, rule-based classifications are absolutely necessary - especially for the marketing campaigns!

We have used IBM Coremetrisc before SiteCatalyst. They append “cm_mmc” link tags to URLs (similar to the “utm” tags in Google Analytcs, using the format cm_mmc=A-_-B-_-C-_-D).

Coremetrics names these slots Vendor, Category, Placement, and Item.

Email:

syntax: cm_mmc=email-_-$date-emailname$-_-$emailprovidersendID$-_-$bannerlocation$

example: cm_mmc=email-_-20120920-fallsale-_-9876-_-hero-image

Paid Search

syntax: cm_mmc=cpc-_-$search engine$-_-$adgroup$-_-$keyword$

example: cm_mmc=cpc-_-google-_-top-products-_-new%20shoes

Affiliate

syntax: cm_mmc=affiliate-_-$affiliate network$-_-$affiliate URL$-_-$affiliate campaign name$

example: cm_mmc=affiliate-_-CJ-_-partnersite.com-_-todaysdeal

Especially for tracking url parameters, which are generated automatically by the partner (like affiliate partners) are rule-based classifications a must-have!
