Create Global Segments that can be applied to multiple report suites

After going back and forth wtih a support person, I was told it is NOT possible to create segments that apply to multiple report suites.

Although there are Pre_Configured segments setup that DO work with mutliple reportsuites.

Visits from Paid Search
Single Page Visits
Visits from Natural Search
Visits from Mobile Devices
Visits with Visitor ID Cookie

I simply want to create a segment and apply it to the 20+ reportsuites I have setup under my account.  Right now, the only way to make this work is to create site specific segments.  This creates a lot of extra work when it appears the ability to create segments that can apply to any reportsutie is already avaialable.

This is now available with the Adobe Analytics Spring 2014 release!

I agree, this is needed. Across an organisation with many report suites, custom variables are usually the same. Therefore, when creating a segment, we should be able to share it on as many report suites as we want.

This feature will help us save so much time create and maintain segments across suites.

Currently we have 29 country suites, all with 100% same settings in terms of variables and events. If we could group all those suites together, letting SC know that those have (and always will have) same variables/settings, then it should be fairly easy also to implement a feature where segments can be created and shares globally, beeing avaliable for the selected list of Report Suites.

Hope to get this feature, as it would save many hours a month for us including improving reporting and insights quality!

At the least, it would be nice to have the Report Suite level segments applied to the DEV and PROD versions of the same site.

For instance, website helloworld.com should have a DEV and a PROD report suite. These report suites should have the same variables set and would need the same segments available.

Thanks -

Sarah

I agree with point #2 as well- our report suite implementations are standardized, and where there might be a difference in variable usage, the analyst "should" know that the filter is not relevant- so I would vote for this option as we have a ton of consistent report suites that would benefit from this functionality.

I combined several similar ideas into a single thread here.

Please continue to provide feedback. This is definitely something that is on our radar, along with a number of other segment management improvements.

I know that I posted about this several times a few months back, but it seems as if there has been zero progress towards making this happen.  Any word on when this feature may become available?

Option 2 is what works for me.

2.) "That might be a problem for some people, but good implementation governance should cause eVars to be the same across suites, so cross-suite segments should be allowed."

Leave it up to the Admin to make this decesion.  We don't have 100% parity across all reportsuites on eVar and events, but for key metrics,  we absolutely do.
