Creating and extracting flat tables in Adobe Analytics

What's the easiest way to generate flat tables in Adobe Analytics (for eventual extraction)?

Freeform tables are a possibility, but once downloaded these are difficult to work with (as data is shown as it would be in, say, an Excel Pivot table - not truly flat)

I'm not an admin user so do not have access to custom reports, or more complex extraction techniques.
