Header text wrapping should be turned on by default

You bet! Thanks for fostering the discussion here, this really helped us in making our decision. We will be continuing to think about project level settings as well, to help in cases where customers do not want this as their default.

I'm happy to have the new column wrapping feature as an option, but I would prefer if column wrapping is off by default.

The main reason is that if I have a number of tables in a workspace, then I can be sure they will have a consistent height, and this makes arranging the workspace much easier when I place tables besides one another or beside a visualisation.

Sometimes I will duplicate segments and metrics just to give them a shorter name so they don't get truncated! I make sure I don't share them with anyone so it doesn't clutter up the segment/metrics library.

Right-click on the title (of a panel or viz), and an 'edit description' option will appear.

I might be ignoring the existence of a functionality then! When I have a chart or a table, where do I add the description under the title?

We haven't explored wrapping visualization headers yet. Have you thought about using the description field under the title instead for your comments? That space is smaller font and wraps. We are also reducing the padding that is added when you use descriptions, to keep the layout lighter.

Hi Jen, great addition and definitely ideal to have it turned on by default (and the user may decide to turn it off): this can actually make tables look better when you have lots of columns, I am was able to display Average Time on Site fully before

Could the text wrapping be considered also for visualization titles? Sometimes to keep a dashboard layout lighter I add comments as titles to visualizations (think consulting-slide-style). Or should I raise this as another idea in the forum?

I think the general issue here as with many features is that Adobe product management & QA seem to test with basic metrics only a lot, and on huge wide screens. This is why such things don't bother Adobe as much as they do clients. My recommendation: Force everyone on a laptop and work with real customer setups for testing & qa.

Of course "Visits" and "Revenue" are short, but you don't buy Adobe Analytics to keep stuck at such basic metrics. We are using 80% Calculated Metrics, and it is mostly impossible to summarize their essence in a few characters. Moreover, we heavily split metrics by Segments, and Segments have the same "problem".

And any other Analytics tool out there I know of (including the old R&A Interface) does not truncate their columns, but wrapped them by default. That is why this truncation was a thing that got me livid from the very start of Workspace, and it is why I am so happy to see it finally gone at least optionally. Now we just need it as the default.

There can be extreme cases with verrry many columns where you would make the columns really long if you wrapped, so deactivating truncation would still be a useful option.
