Segment issue- 4 clicks within 1 second criteria

We created a segment in CJA that has criteria using seconds as an inclusion for consecutive email clicks. We found several examples where people are getting pulled into the segment even though their email clicks are well outside the 1 second range. Has anyone used this type of logic on email deliveries? Curious if there is something wrong with the seconds dimension or if there is adjustment needed on our side.

Quick question.  When I reviewed your segment, your 1 second time delays only apply to the email clicks AFTER the initial email click.  Could it be that the additional people you see coming thru are because of this?

I would think that this entire sequence would fall into 4 seconds... 1 second between each click, but not all 4 clicks within the 1 second criteria...

I don't think it's actually possible to look for 4 clicks within a time frame because the logic is based on "between each step" and not "the entire sequence".

Even if we were to look at "4 clicks within 8 seconds" (to keep the math simple), the best you could do is look for each click within 2 seconds... but the problem there is that if the first and second click are within the 2 seconds, and the last two clicks are very close but outside the 2 second check between clicks 2 and 3... the sequence would fail...

@jennifer_dungan Agreed.  I believe the timing is off from the start, and then it would catch everything in between as well.
