Where should the visitor.getInstance method be inserted?

We're attempting to use visitor.getInstance to secure specific cookies, such as AMCV from Adobe's Experience Cloud ID Service extension (Adobe Data Collection). However, we're unsure where to implement this method. We tried adding it here:
But it's not effective.
Where's the recommended location to add this method? Can it be integrated via the Adobe Analytics extension from Adobe Data Collection? Like here:
