Why don't my totals match my daily figures?

In workspace I have a report set up looking at daily unique visits to a page across a month. The total states 11,719, but when we manually add up to over 13,000. Has anyone else experienced this or got an insight into why?

At first impression, it seems that you are adding line items manually and comparing them with the total in the reports.
