Now we can add text with style. Can you please allow us adding images? It will be a great enhancement for our report. Usually we show data about content or page performance and business team need to have a visual link to that figures.

The same I can do here in this post:

adobe-analytics.png

Let's start with a simple inclusion of <img> tag where we point to an external source for image, then you can take your time to figure out how to manage image hosting...

Hi Jen,

Here is a perfect VISUAL example from a tool I regularly use today: Confluence.

I have one of two choices when I'm working.  I can either click the image tool to upload and then insert an image into my project.

Step 1

Step 2

Step 3

Step 4

Then, once the image is on the page, I am able to choose how I would like to treat it.  I can control its size, border, add links and some additional properties, if I want.

- OR -

I can also skip Steps 1 through 4 by simply Copying and Pasting any image from my computer, which includes using tools like FastStone Capture, which is the exact productivity tool I used to capture all of the screenshots I used in this response.

Thanks! We are discussing doing this in phases, like you described, by first allowing users to paste in a URL. If you had the ability to paste in an URL, where would you source your images from?

Hi all,

I suggested you to give us the easier solution (paste the URL), just because I want to have it soon.

But for sure, the best option is to have both the solutions: UPLOAD (and hosting) or PASTE THE URL

The image should be at 100% size scale of the panel, since we can already resize the panel with mouse.

Hi Jen!

That's spot on!  To give it a finer point.  Another tool I use on a regular basis is the Atlassian tool, Confluence.  We use Confluence as our process and documentation for creating reports, and as you may know, Confluence operates very similarly to Forums, in that you can insert images via upload or copy/paste inline while working.  Depending on the versions you've seen, you can also quickly choose sizing "on the fly" and keep going, which means I spend a lot less time determining what I have to do with images and more productive time documenting and reporting.

Sending the appropriate contact info shortly, and thanks!

That does help! To boil it down, you would prefer to upload an image and have the UI (Forums in this case) store the image, rather than paste a URL to an image hosted elsewhere. Thank you for explaining that a bit more, and I would love to involve you in some research/testing calls once we get those setup. Please message me with your contact info when you get a chance.

I would be curious to hear from others on the thread about which approach is preferred. The originating idea from JarnoRossiCom suggested the latter approach (URL).

Hi Jen,

I'm comparing the tech of the older R&A Dashboards in Adobe Analytics being more of a frustration as opposed to the tech used in the exact forums we're using right now to converse.  The reason it was a pain was we had to HOST the image somewhere first and then paste in the URL of the image, as opposed to these forums.  For instance, within this very UI we're using, I can click a button that allows me to upload an image.  In fact, I can even paste an image from my clip board right into the body of this message and keep typing.

Didn't mean to be purposely vague in my response.  Happy to provide any additional details, as needed.  Does that help?

Hi Jeff - sorry - which tech are you suggesting be re-used? We have a couple different image mechanisms today, although all live in our legacy tech (not in Workspace tech). Also, what was a pain in the past - pasting in a URL? I just want to make sure I'm understanding your feedback.

In your ideal world, how would you want to embed an image in Workspace?

I will be very blunt.  Having to use that approach was a pain in the patukis.   It was highly limiting and time consuming as well.  Why can't you use the same tech you use here?  Reports require permissions for other people to view, which means they are not publicly facing.

We are actively researching this one. If we were to allow you to insert any image URL, where would you reference your images from?

For those folks that have used the legacy R&A dashboard image capabilities before (see below), where did you reference your images from?

If only.  It would make my job a LOT easier, particularly in providing examples of assets for reports being run against them.  This is a feature we need sooner than later.
