AEP source connector - azure event hub - ingest data from event hub

Hi there, we have setup a source connection from AEP to our Azure EventHub, the connector is now showing status Enabled and should be working, it is setup in a consumer group to enable data ingestion.
Is my understanding of this connector that it is now enabled to receive all XDM formatted events that we are sending to this specific event hub?

The dataflow doesnt seem to act on any of the data we are streaming to the event hub, anyone here with advice on where to start troubleshooting?

so this type of streaming ingestion is not possible to set up completely using the UI, a crucial step which is a target connection is not possible to configure using the UI, creating via API instead and this now works
