Hi,

Can we do control and test with segmentation in AEP?

Thanks

@scb21  Similar to control and test, Segmentation in AEP provides estimate and preview tools available within Real-time Customer Profile to provide information for the expected audience. Estimates provide statistical information on a segment definition, such as the projected audience size. Previews provide paginated lists of qualifying profiles for a segment definition, allowing you to compare the results against what you expect.

By estimating and previewing your audience, you can test and optimize your PQL predicates until they produce a desirable result, where they can then be used in an updated segment definition.

In short, if you start creating your segment and add the attributes and events, at the right hand side you can use the estimate and preview tools to determine the targeted audience and profiles.

Preview and Estimates using API endpoint :- https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/experience-platform/segmentation/api/previews-and-estimates.html?lang=en

Hope this helps.

@scb21 do you intend to show test/control segment reports in CJA as well?

Currently, AEP segments don't support test/control and I don't believe this will be supported soon. With AJO you may have the option to do so in the future.

If you add more details on what's your goal we can recommend a better option to deal with this.

@scb21 if you are asking if there is a native feature within AEP Segments to split a single audience into two or more mutually exclusive segments ( Like Audience Lab in Adobe audience manager) that may not be possible today.

You will have to rely on doing this within the destination (if possible) and activate it from there.
