Events are not transferred from Profile to Data Lake automatically?

If the events from Profile expires then its not accessible anywhere?

Events are not automatically transferred from Profile to Data Lake in AEP. You must enable both Profile and Data Lake on datasets during ingestion.
If events expire in Profile, they are only accessible in the Data Lake if they were ingested there.
If not stored in the Data Lake, expired events are lost.
