This event has now concluded, thanks for attending!

After a record registered and attended Adobe Target AMA at Summit, we’re excited to kick off a new series of Target Ask Me Anything (AMA) events (formerly known as Community Coffee Breaks!) To kick off this new 2025 series, Iulian Velea, Brent Kostak, Drew Burns, and Cristinel Anastasoaie of the Product Management and Product Marketing teams will be hosting a 1-hour AMA on all of your questions related to our major product roadmap announcements at Summit, focused on optimizing your testing and personalization strategy at scale. Keep in mind this is a text-only event, there is no link/video to join! Just post your question as a reply to the thread and it will be answered during the 1-hour “event”.

So, what were Adobe Target’s Summit announcement around scaling your optimization strategy?

We announced a rolling release of a completely redesigned Adobe Target user interface which is built for greater efficiency, on a React Spectrum framework, and designed to work seamlessly with Adobe Experience Platform and Platform-native applications like Adobe Journey Optimizer.  We have 2 new betas with impending GAs for 2 new generative AI features: an AI Assistant for product knowledge (enabling conversational queries for product information, best practices, use cases and more) and an AI Assistant for content generation (embedded generative AI features in Target’s visual experience composer for generating configurable text variations based on audience, tone and other factors, with auto-suggested images coming shortly thereafter.)  We announced a new implementation approach (and held a lab) dedicated to CDN Experimentation, a near latency-free implementation approach that enables leveraging EDGE workers like Akamai for Target execution.)  We announced a revamped embedded feature for reducing and removing flicker.  We announced a new Insights Dashboard home screen for Target customers which summarizes activity progress and relative impact on core metrics to your business.  And finally, a brand new product built to integrate with Adobe Target that leverages generative AI for optimizing your optimization strategy, Adobe Journey Optimizer Experimentation Accelerator, which makes suggestions on optimal opportunities for activities based on your audiences and historical Target activity performance with relative projected impact on your main business goals.

Not sure where to start? We’ve included some sample questions to get you started.

  • What does my organization need to do to get access to the AI Assistants?
  • What do I need to do to my Target instance to leverage AJO Experimentation Accelerator?
  • What are the new features of Target’s redesigned UI?
  • How does the new flicker management release reduce or even remove flicker?
  • Is the new Insights Dashboard configurable based on my business strategy?

Sorry, one more from me, and slightly off-topic, but relevant to my organization - we often have use-cases to run geo-targeted activities, but with the majority of our shoppers now being on mobile devices, IP-geo location isn't always very reliable certainly at the more granular locations like City and Zip code. Is there any way, other than asking shoppers to explicitly share their location using the geolocation API to improve the accuracy of this for anonymous shoppers?

@chris-luckettYou've raised a great topic for discussion.  GPS isn't as accurate as geo-location for the desktop web for sure, but I'm wondering if there's potentially a configuration that could help with pinpointing GPS such as Points of Interest with our Core Services.  What are the use cases you are desiring accurate GPS for with Target?  Here is more information on mobile targeting, and we do provide geo-location data leveraging Digital Envoy, which is one of the top providers:  https://experienceleague.adobe.com/en/docs/target/using/audiences/create-audiences/categories-audiences/geo#how-does-geo-targeting-work-for-mobile-devices

Thanks @drewb6915421, a couple of scenarios include targeting:

- shoppers within a certain proximity to one of our physical retail stores.

- shoppers affected by disruption to our normal operations due to extreme weather events.

- shoppers within a certain proximity to an event we are running

A few more Target Summit announcements is CDN experimentation, an evolution of our on-device decisioning which provides near latency-free testing and targeting leveraging EDGE workers such as Akamai. We ran a lab that showed how it doesn't require a call each time to Target servers and is ideal for use cases where performance is important, such as feature management/flagging.  We also showcased an integration with Workfront Fusion that creates an auto-testing process for activity creation that has sped up activity creation by 4X, so ideal for testing and personalization at scale.

I know there will be questions around AJO Experimentation Accelerator, a new Gen-AI-powered experimentation agent built for Target (and AJO) that analyzes existing Target activities and provides next best suggested activities with projected outcomes for you to consider and to assist with prioritizing your optimization practice.  To request early access, visit this page and sign up:  https://business.adobe.com/products/journey-optimizer/experimentation-accelerator.html

I signed up last month for this, do you know when we will find out if we are eligible to take part in the early-access beta?

@chris-luckettGreat news!  We have a lot of early access requests that we are reviewing currently.  As this is a Gen AI features, there are riders and other requirements that need to be signed off on before we provide access.  I know the beta team is doing this in a rolling manner as they are also wanting to engage with accounts and receive feedbacks on additional enhancements and requests.  I can follow-up to see where they are at in the process on your behalf 🙂

Hi @drewb6915421, frustratingly I haven't had time to review all the exciting new Target features that were announced at Summit in detail yet, but in terms of the sample questions above, I'm interested to understand how the new flicker management release reduces flicker and in terms of the new enterprise permissions you've released are there any plans to extend this to "Product Recommendations" i.e. right now I believe anyone with any access to Target can edit and publish Recommendations designs and criteria regardless of whether these are being used in LIVE activities or not.

@chris-luckettA lot of big announcements at Summit, including a new modernized UI with improved Platform interoperability that is rolling out over the next month to customers, AI Assistants for product knowledge and content generation (VEC), improved flicker management, and a new experimentation agent that leverages Gen AI for analyzing current activities and suggesting next best opportunities for optimization based on desired outcome.  The new flicker management will reduce (and even remove) potential flicker greatly by masking only the part of a page where an activity is being delivered and only when the activity is running, so it reduces the requirements for delaying load significantly in a client-side implementation.  Interesting suggestion on Permissions for Recommendations specifically - we can look into that, but I want to stress that the best way to manage this issue currently would be to assign the desired restricted users an Editor permission level.  This will mean that they can construct algorithms or even activities, but can't push them live.  This means that an Approver or Publisher has governance over the algorithms and recommendations activities built by an Editor.
