[Workfront AMA] Ask Me Anything about Adobe Workfront Certifications

Event Concluded, thanks for attending!

We're back with another Ask Me Anything (AMA)! Hop into this session on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, from 9 AM - 10 AM PDT, where we'll be opening up the floor to any questions you might have about acquiring an Adobe Workfront Certification!

In this AMA, we'll have our Adobe certifications manager Nick H. (@nick_hilton) joined by our Community Advisors Skye H. (@skyehansen) and Kurt J. (@kurt_jones) to discuss best practices and strategies for acquiring a certification from the lenses of an Adobe Employee and customer. Keep in mind this is a text-only event, there is no link/video to join! Just post your question as a reply to the thread and it will be answered during the 1-hour “event."

What is an Adobe certification and what are the benefits?

A certification is a credential that recognizes an individual’s skill and competency in an Adobe application. A candidate who passes the certification exam becomes an Adobe Certified Professional, Expert, or Master. Certifications require commitment, are legally defensible, and validation from Adobe of your expertise.

Individual benefits may include career advancement, boosting job performance, proving your skills, gaining client trust, and increasing earning potential.

When you receive an Adobe certification, you can download a digital badge to share on your social media accounts.

Hi,

Would Adobe ever consider discounting the rate of the exams if someone is taking them more than once, if they did not pass it the first time?

Thank you!

We are considering offering a retake discount for those who did not pass their first attempt. While we are exploring this option, please keep on eye on the Adobe Certification Portal to make sure you don't miss any promotions that we post. It's also a good idea to make sure your profile is up-to-date so that you receive any promo emails that contain discounts.

Hi,

The practice exams are much easier than the actual exams. Would you ever consider changing that so we can modify our studying approach?

Great session topic and I appreciate the opportunity to provide feedback!

The practice exam is a VERY general example of some of the types of questions that might be asked in the certification (and the way they might be asked) BUT not necessarily indicative of all areas. So think of it as more a way for you to get used to the rhythm of the exam. More useful would be reading through the "exam prep guides" which are available under the "Study for exam" tabs of most certifications -- this would help you discover where in the documentation that the majority of the questions might be coming from.

If its only meant as a generalization then that should be clearly stated in the practice test links and information that it is not representative of the actual questions.

Hi there! What discounts or complimentary certifications tests are available, criteria to get the discount, and what times of the year? For example, I believe at Adobe Summit in-person you can take the tests for free (tell me if I'm wrong). Thanks!

Hi Julie,

The Certification Program typically runs an annual end-of-year promotion, as well as ad hoc promotions from time to time. If you are eligible from a promotion that we offer, you will receive an email from the team. Please make sure your email is up to date in your profile.

You are correct, at Adobe Summit you can take free certification exams for free, as long as you attend in person–Spread the word!

Hello,

I'm interested in pursuing an AEM certification and would like guidance on the best certification path for someone with a background in Workfront Fusion development. Which certification would be the most relevant and valuable for my role?

Thanks,

Cristina

Hi Cristina,

I'll work with the AEM team to determine a good recommendation for you looking into an AEM development certification.

Thanks,

Nick

Yes,

Adobe provided a test instance for anyone to practice(valid for 3 months).

Request a practice environment by filling out this form (click here). If you’re unable to access the adobe form, send your name, email address, and company name to wfttstdr@adobe.com.

Thanks!

Hi @kurt_jones, @skyehansen@jon_chen,

Thanks for hosting this AMA!

Is there any way to access a demo or sandbox environment of Adobe Workfront to practice hands-on before the certification exam?
And if not, are there recommended ways to get practical experience outside of a corporate license?

Thanks in advance!

Best,

Guéna

Is there a practice test or a pre-test so we can see how ready we are before we commit to it?

ElizaBarryGuild -

Yes, there are practice tests available to try as much as you want.  They breakdown the scoring in sections to allows you to understand areas that you may need to improve on.  You can find these tests by clicking the Certification Portal link above in Resources section, then going to Certification Home on that page and filtering by Workfront as the product.  You can click into the Learn More button on any of the Workfront Certification tests listed and you'll see at the top Study for Exam tab where you can find these resources.

Hello, I need to renew my certifications in the coming months. Is the renewal exam a full test like the standard one, or is it a mini test?

Manish,

Go to the Certification Portal link above.  You'll see that certs expiring this year have been extended.  You'll also see a Renew button.  If you click it you'll see the renew process is still under development and hasnt been broadly communicated as to what we need to do yet...stay tuned.

Hello,

Most other certifications I hold do not expire or get renewed via continuous development activities.  Do you think this last could be an option for the Workfront certifications? A way in which the certified person stays up to date with the information needed.

Thanks!

MJ
