Domains for email deliverability

Question

Hello,

My client is currently determining the subdomain for the email deliverability. Afterwards, Adobe can then also set-up the lower level domains for tracking, mirror page etc. However, the client is now wondering whether it would be possible to have just 1 subdomain, without the lower level domains to be created, to get the following: sub.domain/mirror/... Would that be possible, or are the lower level domains simply always needed?

Is there a reason why customer doesn't want those sub-domains to be created?
