Solved

Hi,I copied over a website from a co-worker to my CQ instance (5.6.2 I think) and I have the problem that I can neither see the client context (+ shortcut doesn't do anything), nor does the component work that I'm supposed to fix. It shows up in the list but when I drag it onto the page it doesn't show up (it does appear as a JCR node though). Not sure if these problems are even related but I know that both things work on my colleagues machine. I realize you guys can probably not help me without further information, but could you tell me a general approach in AEM to tackle these kind of things? Like on machine A it works, on machine B it doesn't. Is there some kind of logs or console etc. I should check? I'm new to this so any help is much appreciated!Thanks,Paul // Edit:I see two js error messages that I think could possibly be related to my client context issue, what do you think?Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function (legacy.js:25)CQ_Analytics.SessionStore(); --> CQ_Anal

Hi there,I have an RSS (blog) feed that I've imported into the /content/user-generated section of my JCR.  When I go to the Community Console, however, my feed entries aren't showing up for moderation, as seen here: [img]soco-snap.png[/img].My question is: what do I need to do to get the contents of my feed to show up for Moderation? Thanks in advance.RKB

Hi,I wanted to know is there any limit on the size to put into any String[] Array as a property into Adobe CRX for any given node?I have a requirement for adding large number of data as String[] array as Multivalue for one property in crx.I am getting exception and suspect that this is because CQ is not supporting so many data in a single property? Can you please suggest? Thanks.

Hi,I have 1 custom metadata, named 'Corporate users' , it has 3 check boxes  shown in the screen shot[img]checkbox.PNG[/img].I have added 1 property, allowBlanks=false. I am planning to have 2 check box groups here. 1st group will contain , only 1 check box and next group will contain remaining 2 check boxes. My requirement is that, if I check the check box from group 1, it will disable check boxes of group2 and vice versa. Please suggest. Thanks,Debal Das

Hi everyone, Wanted to get your thoughts on websphere commerce server and adobe CQ integration. Is there any issues with this integration (advantages and disadvantages) ? Anything I should know before starting the project based on this integration ? Any best practices/guidelines that we should be following during design for this integration. Regards,Rohit

Scaffolding is a great way to provide a way for end user to create predefined pages like for instance, news pages. Now suppose you have created your scaffold with just 2 fields:titlecontentYou put the scaffold in production and it is used heavily by the end users, to create news pages. Unfortunately after a while your business user is like, 'I want to add a category as well'. Np, let's just change the scaffold and template to provide this functionality :-).Question here is, what does this mean for the already created content (pages)? Is there a way to regenerate the created pages. What is the way to go here?Next to that I wonder if it would be more interesting to create a more dynamic component that just renders the data in stead of create real pages using scaffolding.Any thougths on this, anybody?

How can I get a user's id etc. by its email address in CQ 5.6.1 or up?

I'm having a heck of a time with JSPs not being recompiled after I edit them, and it seems to be getting worse over the last couple weeks. I've had some success with modifying the lastModified date of the JSP, but today even that is not working. I also looked at the lastModified date on the .java and .class files in /var/classes, and I see that they are incorrect - they're several hours in the future. Is there a different clock being use for those that I can check? Is there something beside the lastModified date I can tweak?

HelloWe are migrating AEM5.3 to 5.6.1.We manage customized tags outside /etc/tags like /content/metadata.It works fine in AEM5.3 when we set tagsBasePath:/content/metadata in CQ taggingg.TagInputField. But it does not work in AEM5.6.1.Can you please how to make it work in AEM5.6.1 without moving this customized tags to /etc/tags?Thanks in advance.

I'm trying to build a phonegap application using this guide: http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/current/developing/mobile/phonegap_integration.html (using CQ5.6.1).I'm a total newbie, only having finished sys-admin and developer training last week, and having only a few days of CQ experience under my belt.Unfortunately the guide above seems to be slightly out of date (for 5.6.1) and I've not successfully built a phonegap app. Some of the instructions are not quite clear, e.g.which node should the phonegap-exportTemplate property be set on?how do I create and configure a config.xml file?I think I've reproduced the configuration from teh guide using geometrixx-outdoors-mobile, contentsync and Phonegap Build. The symptom that's manifesting that the Phonegap Build complains that there is no index.html file.I've inspected the ZIP produced by content sync and the JCR /content/geometrixx-outdoors-mobile, /etc/designs/geometrixx-outdoors trees are there as well as a manifest that specifies 'indexPage

Hi Adobe,We wanted to investigate potentially using the Facebook Live Stream component for a client site but when trying to enable it under the Sidekick we couldn't find it in the Social Plugins group. The other components from the Social Communities are available except that one. Checking in CRXDE under /libs/social/plugins/facebook we weren't able to find the component code as well. We're using CQ5.6.

Hi We have been trying to customize parsys component but we would like to know if someone is having some idea on the same and is able to help.We are trying to extend the OOTB parsys to create our own customized parsys which :-1. Can have a separate markup generation of its own.2. Have a dialog in EDIT mode which is able to govern the column control feature from there and we don't have to use a column control OOTB.3. Design dialog remains the same.4. Conventionally what happens is when a new component is dragged-dropped on to the parsys, the blank parsys area shifts down and more components can be added. What we also want is an option to control the new parsys generation so that we are able to limit the number of components allowed on the parsys. For e.g. if we set this limit to one then we can at most drop one component into the parsys after which it must not allow any other component to be added there. Kindly help if someone has already work on these customizations. Any pointers to res

Hi,We are using the RTE image plugin. The problem is when we drag a new image from the DAM into the RTE and hit activate everything inside the RTE gets activated except the new DAM image we just dragged into the RTE. I notice that when you add an image into the RTE editor it creates an image tag inside the RTE. What I would like to know is how do we auto activate this newly added image as well. chris

Hi   I am new to CQ 5.6. Previously I was working with 5.4 . I could understand that the feature for manuscripts is a new additional feature added in AEM. I am really unaware of its functinality. If anyone can guide me with some tutorial about how to work with manuscripts in CQ it would have been very helpful. I have read http://dev.day.com/docs/en/cq/5-6/media-publisher/mp-articles.html#Creating and Assigning Manuscripts this and was able to create a manuscript. But I dont understand How to use it? Where to use it? What's it's exact functionality?     How the manuscripts are included in the page? Exactly for what purpose do we use them? If anybdy could guide me in this, it would have been very helpful ThanksVeena

Hi,CQ has amaizing Link Checker service that does something similar already. E.g. it finds all the links on a page and checks whether they are valid. That's exactly what is needed, what service is it using underneath to find the links on a page ?Is there a service that returns all the page path references found on a page. ?Thanks,Peter

All,we're running 5.6.1. I've started CQ by renaming my jar files:1) cq5-author-45022) cq5-publish-4503I have a servletfilter that checks the runmode you're in using this way:System.getProperty("sling.run.modes") However, when I just run the Author from the quickstart jar, this returns null. When I run Author in debug mode it works fine. When I run Publish from the quickstart.jar it also runs fine (returns publish). The strange thing is, when I check in the felix console xxx//system/console/status-slingsettings I do see in all cases the correct runmode displayed.Anyone any idea? Or tips to help debug.

What I'm trying to do is migrate assets into a CQ instance from a WordPress website using an automation suite, Kapow Katalyst, that handles all the grunt work of filling out individual sling post action forms for each content item. Originally I was lead to believe that simply posting the file to the monitored node specified in workflows (/content/dam(.*/)renditions/original) would be enough to make CQ handle the rest of the work of populating the metadata. The form below is used by Kapow for each individual asset and has FILE_NAME replaced with the name of the resource stored in a MySQL database, then the automation browser submits the form, receives a status 200, and continues on to the next asset in the database.<html> <body> <form method="POST" action="http://localhost:4502/content/dam/MigrationProject/FILE_NAME/jcr:content/renditions" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="file" name="original" /> <input type="hidden" name="original" value="nt:file"
