Solved

I am writing a standalone script in java which is trying to modify some tags on my AEM instance.  I am running into a problem when trying to get an instance of TagManager (com.day.cq.tagging.TagManager).Here is what I have tried:Repository repository = JcrUtils.getRepository("http://localhost:4502/crx/server"); Session session = repository.login(new SimpleCredentials("admin", "admin".toCharArray())); JcrTagManagerFactoryImpl tagManagerFactory = new JcrTagManagerFactoryImpl(); TagManager tagManager = tagManagerFactory.getTagManager(session); There is a NullPointerException being thrown on my last line of code there and I am not sure why.  I would like to be clear that since this script is not being installed onto my AEM server (it is not a servlet), I cannot obtain the TagManager from a ResourceResolver.  Also my session object is working correctly (I testing adding nodes through it and it was fine).Thankyou for any help.

Hi Folks,I Would like to know about the LDAP Installation for CQ5.6.1 If anybody knows the detailed steps about LDAP (at Server Level & CQ Level) , Please let me know. 1.How to setup LDAP Server (Windows Server2008/Linux) like configuring AD,etc.,?2.What are the requirements to setup an LDAP Server?(Need detailed steps)3.What needs to be done at CQ Level (Let me know the Step by Step Process)Any help would be appreciated. Thanks & Regards,Maheswar Reddy Gundre

We are using AWS with AEM 5.6.1. We would like to cache some of the data that we get from 3rd parties and DBs/Legacy systems. AWS comes with ElasticCache and we are thinking of using that. Is there any object caching that AEM provides out of box? Are there any recommendations around how to do object caching in AEM?

Can I create a hierarchy of sites that inherit content from parent site(s) using the AEM Muti Site Manager?I'm exploring the Multi Site Manager Live Copy/Rollout feature to be able to create a structure of sites where sites inherit content from their base site, to be able to accomplish a "Create once plublish everywhere" solution for all child sites of the site where I create the content which could be at any level of the hierarchy of sites. MSM seems to offer this kind solution only for a single level, in that it allows me to Rollout content from a source site (blueprint) to a target site (live copy), so that the target site can inherit content from the source site and I can enable/disable this inheritance on a component per component basis, but I actually need to be able to create a live copy of that live copy and so on and then selectively rollout content from the source or from the "middle" live copy. My problem is that when I create a live copy of a live copy and then rollout cont

Hi All,What is the main difference between AEM 5.5 and AEM 5.6Thanks & Regards,Tarangini B.

Hi. I have a problem with DAM assets. They are fired every time when package is deployed to author instance. After deployment, CQ generates rendition, which takes about 3-10minutes. In that time author instance is almost unuseable (pages loads very, very long) I have aem 6 instance without any hotfixes and using mongoMK.From time to time, after deployment of my project renditions are generated only for one asset, and also there is an exception in logs:Caused by: org.apache.jackrabbit.oak.api.CommitFailedException: OakState0001: Unresolved conflicts in /path/to/jpg/jcr:content

Code Cache usage is at 99% at /system/console/memoryusage in my cq instance.I am trying to increase the ReservedCodeCacheSize further. Please let me know if this will fix the issue. Please let me know if this will fix this issue.

Could someone point me to the documentation on Utils.require?  I'm hoping there's an option to request unminified versions of the libraries for debugging purposes.  I'm having trouble getting the videoscrubber to work and debugging minified JS isn't fun.

Hi,We want to setup a code repository and start using Version control with eclipse(AEM Developer Tools for Eclipse.) development of CQ components   Can someone please suggest which one should we go for among various tools available like Apache Subversion, GitHub etc. or any other suggestion with some reason.I cannot find a document on Day care site or Adobe help/guide on this topic, if there any please share the link. Thanks!Rohan

Hi,Does CQ have a built-in API for defining access rights to certain servlet paths (e.g. /bin/myservlet)?Is it possible to do this at a METHOD-level granularity (e.g. define that users in group MyGroup can have POST access to /bin/myservlet)?Thanks in advance.

Hi Eveyone,  Adobe doc says its using Lucene Based Search. I have few questions on that ->1. No API(CQ foundation search API)/Jackrabbit API seems to call Lucence API internally within source code.2. Foundation search uses XPath query "/jcr:root[rep:spellcheck('jackrabit')]/(rep:spellcheck() for spell checking. My understanding is this XPath query internally calls src/main/java/org/apache/jackrabbit/core/query/lucene/spell/LuceneSpellChecker.java which basically search within the index created via workspace content. Pls correct me if I am wrong.Since this is based on workspace content "did you mean" functionality which uses a jackrabbit spell checked implementation returns different suggestion String for different environments with different content.3. Is there any provision for implementing custom dictionary with the default search implementation CQ Provides ? My understanding is no.4.  I believe Adobe search and Promote has a provision for using custom dictionary. How about "Did y

Hello friends,I am building a relatively straight-forward AEM component with a simple authoring dialog. At the top of my dialog is a select field. I want certain fields in my dialog to disappear when this select field is set to a specific item.I have studied the implementation of the Foundation Carousel component, which uses the cq-dialog-dropdown-showhide-target attribute, which is fine, but isn't quite the logic I am looking for. The logic used there is:show this field if the select is equal to XWhereas I am trying to implement:hide this field if the select is equal to X, Y or Z, otherwise show itHas anyone else had trouble implementing this kind of logic in their dialogs?Thank you in advance!Dave

The closest thing I could found is, com.day.cq.wcm.api.NameConstants but it of course doesn't contain a constant value for "cq" as well as "cq:PageContent".Thanks.

Hi, Is there any way to populate the tags from /etc/tags/mysite/catrgory/category1/.. in my drop down menu inside dialog. With help of json i can populate my mapping json file in option, but looking for any other alternative as if the tags will add and remove json has to be changed from crxde. And this thing should be configure by business user or super user via ui.Thanks

I am trying to create a mapping for geometrixx.com,  I have created virtualhosts entry for geometrixx as my.geometrixx.fr, my.geometrixx.de. When I invoke my.geometrixx.fr it is getting redirected to my.geometrixx.fr/content/geometrixx/en.html. Same is the case for my.geometrixx.de although I haven't defined any redirect to /content/geometrixx/en.htmlMy resource resolver is set to /etc/mapI am attaching apache conf, dispatcher conf, vhosts conf, sling mapping

Hi,I have configured a basic form with the "Store Content" action type and have added some default fields (some text, textarea ..) and a file upload field. When checking the data via crxde in the correct location, I can see that the file is uploaded correctly. However when checking the submitted data in the bulkeditor, the column for this field is empty. Is it possible for an author to view the files that have been uploaded via a form and have been put in /content/usergenerated/<path>?

I'm attempting to add ExtJS controls to some of our authoring pages, but running into trouble when it comes to the default CQ CSS styles for the ExtJS components. If i simply create a new ExtJS component and render it to the body, everything looks fine because it is added to a div with an id of "CQ". However if i render it to a specific div in my template, the styles won't be applied because they only apply to elements under the "CQ" div. For example -With JS:new CQ.form.RichText({ width: 400, bodyPadding: 10, renderTo: 'editor' });Which generates this HTML:<body> <div id="editor"> <div id="ext-comp-1234" class="x-panel"> ... </div> </div> <div id="CQ"> <!-- Autogenerated components or "renderTo: CQ.Ext.getBody()" --> </div> </body>The "ext-comp-1234" component won't have the "x-panel" class applied because it is defined -#CQ .x-panel { ... }The only way i've found around this issue is to hardcode a "CQ" div around my entire templat

Hi,  I am trying to write a custom that contains a gridpanel. This gridpanel loads some static data. And this is the code I have.When I load it, nothing shows up.  Can anyone tell me what the problem is?Thank you.Ejst.ContactSearch = CQ.Ext .extend( CQ.form.CompositeField, { /** * xtype: hidden store real value file: this is json format * {url: '/content/sample', text: 'sample'} */ valueField : null , userPanel: null , constructor : function(config) { config = config || {}; var defaults = { border : true, layout : "form", autoWidth : false }; config = CQ.Util.applyDefaults(config, defaults); Ejst.ContactSearch.superclass.constructor.call( this, config); } /** * create composite fields */ , initComponent : function() { Ejst.ContactSearch.superclass.initComponent.call(this);// create children items this.valueField = new CQ.Ext.form.Hidden({ name : this.name }); var myData = [ ['user1','user1@gmail.com','office1','state1'], ['user2','user2@gmail.com','offi

Hi,I am cross posting this to the Marketing Cloud Forum as well.I am currently creating classification hierarchies for custom variables that were built onto my website.  It is a content site that has videos and games and various other things on it.  As a test, I wanted to take the various video and game names (and other site contents) and dump them into classifications to make an easier to read report.  However, after going through the steps, the new classification report only has one row- "Unspecified" with the total traffic as the metric.  How can I fix this? Here is the process of what I did:Went into report suites, found the Traffic Variable "Page Name" and created a classification titled "Page Name Classification Test."  I also added in optional drop downs such as "Homepage", "Games", "Videos" etc for the different data buckets I want.Went to Classification Importer and Browser Exported the classification from the Page Name variable.  Exported everything at the default settings.I t

I have a somewhat peculiar situation. I track amounts to a Currency Success Event that could result in the Event having a negative value. But Adobe always reports 0 (zero) instead of the negative amount.I am tracking an ecommerce store where the customer can modify his order as many times as he likes, as long as his order hasn't been delivered. I've set up a Currency Success Event to track the revenue differences. So this is how a process could go:Original purchase: $100 --> tracked "100" as regular RevenueModification 1: +$50 --> tracked "50" to Success EventModification 2: -$80 --> tracked "-80" to Success EventDelivered --> no more modifications allowedThe idea for the above is that I use a Calculated Metric to calculate the actual order value, i.e. Real Revenue = Revenue + Success Event. So in the above case, Real Revenue = 100 + (50 - 80) = 70.In the above steps, after step 3, the Success Event should be "-30". But when I check a report that includes this metric, it sh

Hello All,I'm building a Report Builder request which requires that a filter for campaign ids be constantly updated. One of my proposed solutions to having ongoing campaign tag parameters included was to make the report builder event refer to a range of cells using the 'contains one of' filter of continually add campaign parameters to the column I had chosen. When attempting to do this I have found that Report Builder is unable to accept a range of cells. Single cells work, but there's no way to fit this volume of campaign tags in a single cell.Has anyone managed to reference a range of cells as a 'contains one of' filter?

I set up a new report suite that contains Mobile App data about 2 months ago; however, I get the attached screen when I go to view Data Warehouse info for this report suite. All of the other report suites within our "company" show Data Warehouse information. Is there something I can do to show the Data Warehouse info for this report suite?
