For example, the text component, has an init.jsp file. However I don't see it being included in any other JSP file. Its super resource type, /libs/foundation/components/form/defaults/field, doesn't user it either. So what, how and when does CQ invoke this script?

Hi All,       We are using the below query builder API to read CQ page content information. But in our nodes we have Russian text as node property values. When we read using the below code, we are getting ??????? instead of actual value. How to set character encoding in query builder API ?Map<String,String> map=new HashMap<String,String>();                        map.put("property", "jcr:primaryType");            map.put("property.or", "true");            map.put("property.1_value", "cq:PageContent");            map.put("property.2_value", "dam:AssetContent");            map.put("p.limit","-1");            adminSession = slingRepository.loginAdministrative(null);            query = builder.createQuery(PredicateGroup.create(map), adminSession);            result = query.getResult();RegardsNivas

I've read that housing WebHelp on CQ5 is most likely not do-able, however, not impossible. I've successfully uploaded WebHelp onto CQ5 and the help opens up beautifully to the start page, HOWEVER, when clicking on every other topic, we get this on our pages:  All the files and folders are present in the DAM. Is it the way CQ5 reads the help the reason we're getting this error? Can anyone think of a workaround/solution to this?

The images are not showing in scaffolding mode, Where can i check or how can I solve that issue??

Hi,I'm having issues with the social blog components included in CQ and the classes used (namely com.adobe.cq.social.blog). I have a blog running as expected however I can't get either the Archives or Categories components to output anything when placed within the blog. I find this behaviour occurs within the geomatrix-outdoors blog as well but not the 2009 geomatrix blog. I've managed to resolve my issue with the Archive component, but it's not elegant - by extending the component and then iterating over each 'period' and generating the HTML within the JSP, rather than what the component originally did which was use the getArchiveAsHTML() of the blog object. I've now come to trying to use the same technique to resolve the Categories component issues and cannot get any tags out of the blog object whatsoever, getTagsAsHTML()  of the blog object returns nothing and getTags() also returns an empty array. I've seen this elsewhere as an issue suffered by others so I wanted to know, what am

the new responsive custom component created is overlapping with the other components. please see the screenshot. any help much appreciated.slightly adjusting the window height fixes the issue. but on page load its always overlapping.

Can we create a REST Webservices in CQ OSGi bundles which can be consumed by external applications.

I have to create a custom component container similar to parsys where i can allow some specific components to be added. let us for example i have created a component called simple where i metioned sling:resourceSuperType is /libs/foundation/components/parsys and this simple component i have added in a page component like <cq:include path = simple resouceType = "myapp/componets/simple" /> When i open the page i can not see any editbar then i added the editconfig to the simple component, now i can see the edit bar but if i click new/edit i can not see anything happening.I can not see the exact behavior like parsys - "edit option and onclick of that list of components pops up where you can select any component and add to parsys". Is there something wrong with my component ? Basically i just want to achieve the following things through component. I am pasting the xml snippet below : <jcr:content <simple jcr:primaryType="nt:unstructured" sling:resourceType="foundation/components

I am new to Open CMIS and needed some help or documentation getting started. I am able to connect and query CQ DAM using AtomPub. I noticed that the pdf's in the dam are handled as "cmis:folder". I need help on getting the queries to work against the metadata specifically by cq:tags.Example:SELECT * FROM cmis:folder WHERE cmis:name = 'test.pdf'Would like to add properties from the metadata to the select./content/dam/test.pdf/jcr:content/metadataWould appreciate any help in this regard.

Hi all,I have a component I'm trying to build that's basically a simple navigation list of links. My dialog is using a mtmulticomposite field like so:<multi jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" name="./links" prefix="./" xtype="mtmulticompositefield"> <fieldConfigs jcr:primaryType="cq:WidgetCollection"> <linkText jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" fieldLabel="Link Text" name="linkText" xtype="textfield" width=""/> <linkURL jcr:primaryType="cq:Widget" fieldLabel="Link URL" name="linkURL" xtype="textfield" width="100"/>  This code is working fine and the dialog is behaving as expected, but I don't know how to include this data inside my component .jsp file?Normally for xtype="textfield" I just use <cq:text name="field_name"> but in this case I'm not sure what to do.Basically I would use those fields to populate a list of links like so:<ul> <% iterate through my multi-composite data somehow... %> <li href="mutli-composite-link">mutli-composite-text</l

Hi,I am trying to write junit test cases for my osgi services. I tried to follow the below sling testing tool.http://sling.apache.org/documentation/development/sling-testing-tools.htmlBut this is not very intuitive. Here is what I did to set it up .Added maven dependency.<dependency> <groupId>org.apache.sling</groupId> <artifactId>org.apache.sling.junit.core</artifactId> <version>1.0.8</version> </dependency> Install the bundle from Felix console. Now I tried accessing http://localhost:8080/system/sling/junit/ but this gives 404 error. Am I missing anything here ?

Hi,I have a clustered CQ environment. There are 2 CQ servers in my cluster hosted on different web servers.I have shutdown one of the CQ instance but web server is still up and running which is hosting that CQ instance. When I hit the page, it gives me an error - Bad gateway, that means though CQ instance is down request is still going to web server.Shouldn't it be that if one CQ instance is down, request should go to another web server with second cluster node?Regards,Shallu Rohilla

I saw this post on a LinkedIN group and thought the community members would be able to help out with these two questions about images in AEM:  Is it possible to disable the free crop, yet, retain and use other custom defined crop configurations? We do not want authors to crop the image using the free form tool, but, should be able to crop based on the pre-defined crop dimensions. Is it possible to apply a default crop config on the image as soon as "crop" is clicked or image is loaded in to the html5smartImage?I'm not looking to extend/create my own component based on html5msartImage, rather wondering whether there is any config or ootb way to do it?From my understanding, this cannot be achieved, wanted experts here to validate me.

Hi everyone,I am dealing with AEM 6 these days, and I have a simple question, but I cannot find the right way.How can I access to the design dialog of a Component in the TOUCH UI on AEM 6 on a Page without to go to the CLASIC UI? Is it possible or not?Thank you.

Adobe has published a capacity guide based on performance tests that were conducted in their labs as indicated below. Is this the right capacity guide for AEM 6.0 because they are using JDK 1.6. I thought the recommended JDK was 1.7. Can someone clarify if this is the right documentation https://dev.day.com/content/docs/en/aem/6-0/manage/capacity-guide/capacity-guide.html

Is util.S7SetHelper and automatic set-up, with Javascript uploading, available without Day/CQ being involved with Scene7?

We're seeing an issue with our connection pooling and i just wanted to see if anyone else had ever run into this problem. The first few people to log in in the morning receive error messages when trying to open a page because it appears that our database connections in the pool seem to expire or die overnight. When the users hit them in the morning they throw messages such as - No more data to read from socketIO Error: Broken pipeListener refused the connection with the following error: ORA-12516, TNS:listener could not find available handler with matching protocol stack However, it looks like when they do try to use a dead connection it is cleared out of the pool. After enough page refreshes the pool clears itself of all faulty connections and the site begins to work normally. Has anyone ever heard of or experienced anything like this? It doesn't appear to be an issue with our database machine as other non-cq applications have no trouble. Thanks

Received 409 (Conflict) for saving changes in workspace crx.default." var/clientlibs.What could be reason ?

Hi, I'm trying to create a WCMUse java object at the component level to use with sightly, and I keep getting the following error:org.apache.sling.api.SlingException: Cannot get DefaultSlingScript: No use provider could resolve identifier: AEMUserThe idea is to wrap the jackrabbit user class for use by sightly, my company does a lot with security groups and prefer to do things on the code level vs the author targeting level (our authors don't understand targeting)Anyway, here is the class that wraps the jackrabbit User class:package apps.AEMUPGRADE.components.aemUser; import org.apache.jackrabbit.api.security.user.User; import org.apache.jackrabbit.api.security.user.Group; import com.adobe.cq.sightly.WCMUse; public class AEMUser extends WCMUse{ private String username; private User user; public AEMUser(String username){ this.username = username; } @Override public void activate() throws Exception { username = get("username", String.class); user = getResource().adaptTo(User.class); } pub

This is a second question related to our bespoke ecommerce implementation. We applied this tutorial but we have a question on the currency. When we change the currency in our class (extending the AbstractJcrCommerceSession class) the amounts are shown correctly on the first page but not on the second page (please see attached screenshot). Please see a snippet of our code below. AFAIK, there are no getters and setters for locale (and tax-rate) but overriding the property after having invoked the base constructor should do the trick .Am I missing something? many thanks in advance, Wim public DCCommerceSessionImpl( AbstractJcrCommerceService commerceService, SlingHttpServletRequest request, SlingHttpServletResponse response, Resource resource) throws CommerceException { super(commerceService, request, response, resource); LOG.info(">>> DCCommerceSessionImpl() started"); locale = Locale.GERMANY; PRODUCT_TAX_RATE = new BigDecimal("0.21"); this.commerceService = commerceService; thi
