Solved

I see this problem when I use  following code in my workflow custom process.@Reference  private ResourceResolverFactory resolverFactory;I see a previous  thread with the same subject in https://forums.adobe.com/thread/1204006?tstart=0I tried the workaround mentioned in the thread, it didn't work for me(one of the workaround is by adding -XX:-UseSplitVerifier option to the JVM .This issue seems to be an with CQ 5.6 and java 7). I already have this in my start.bat and quickstart.batHere are Java and CQ5 versions I triedJava 1.7CQ: Version 5.6 and 6.0 (Didn't work on any one of them)

SELECT * from [cq:PageContent] AS t WHERE ISDESCENDANTNODE(['/content/'])On local host this returns a large result setOn the testing server it does not report an error, but returns no results. It is as if there is no content  under /content/ on the testing server. But that is not the case.SELECT * from [cq:PageContent] AS t works on both localhost and on the testing server. RegardsClive

Hi All,I have a requirement to encrypt the passwords that are currently set as free text.I found that there is an option in CQ5 to encrypt passwords using 'Crypto Support'.Could you please provide any documentation(if available) or instructions to make use of this feature. As per few online comments, I navigated to localhost:4502/system/console/crypto and entered password in plain text and clicked protect. It generated a protected text however I'm not sure sure how to make use of it and also, it didnt generate hmac and master properties under /etc/key.ThanksMSR

Sorry if this seems basic but I tried "Components" tab with "Edit" and/or "Design" mode.    It seems like it keeps switching me back to "Edit".  Then I get the backside menu of what looks like fields and labels.  I don't see any images.  So I try "Page" instead of "Components"  and I try "Design".  I drop an image on an image I want to replace and it doesn't replace it.  It just takes me to a file:/// page in the browser with that image.  How do I change some images on my page?  Thanks,

Hi All,We are using a custom compoment and need to stop permanently. We have clicked on stop button in component and went to inactive mode. If we restart the instance, all the components are loading and even this also moving to active state. We need to stop and it should not get active even the instance restarted. Please advice.

Hi, How do we implement mobile site in AEM?Do we make use of only media queries or some mobile template is provided for the same or we develop two sites(one for desktop and other for mobile)? Can you explain the strategy used for developing geometrixx-outdoors for mobile and how is geometrixx-outdoor responsive? Thanks,Nikunj

I want to display conditional edit for parsysI am in Edit mode but I have a jsp variable readOnly, if this is true. I want to display parsys in readonly mode without gray border. It should show all the components already dropped earlier in read only mode, but users cannot add any new component nor should see<script type="text/javascript" id="cq-gen495">CQ.WCM.edit({ ......});</script>            <%if(readOnly){ %>                <cq:include path="<%=path%>" resourceType="/libs/foundation/components/parsys" /> <!---  but display only view no new component --->           <%}else%>            <cq:include path="<%=path%>" resourceType="/libs/foundation/components/parsys" />        <%}%>Can you please let me know the best approach to do this?

We've a situation where we had a focum posted to produciton by accident and we deleted the forum, but the user responses are still showing up if we queyr the "activites"> SO i went to the user profile and deleted the content from hi profile. I also used replicate delete to delete from publish. So asicaly under that user we do not have any UGC.On dispatcher, it's still showing up? DOes dispatcher cache even forum data? if so where should I be looking at to delete the user response? Thanks

Hi,Is there a way to make certain pages unmovable/uncopyable in CQ5?For example, we want all pages that are located at /content/myapp/*/home not to be movable and/or copy/pastable.Also is it possible to make sure that only specifc page (node) names are allowed under a given path (e.g. /content/myapp/*/)?To be more precise, in our deployment, we have folders similar to:/content/myapp/site1/content/myapp/site2,etc.site1, site2, etc. are [nt:folder] nodes.Under each of these folders, there's one "root" page named "home":/content/myapp/site1/home/content/myapp/site2/home,etc.We want to prevent users from creating any other pages right below site1, site2, etc. and only allow them to create pages that are children of home.We also want to restrict users from copying any of these home nodes and paste them back to the same site node. Finally, we also want to prevent users from copying any page, and paste them under any of site1, site2, etc. nodesWhat options do we have to implement these require

We are using a custom xtype to create cusom multifield lists. The xtype takes the declarations from our dialog, and creates repeatable sections based on your standard dialog xml.We have created another custom xtype, which is a select box, that populates the options based on a function which returns some values in a JSON object from a content node. It works nicely using optionsProvider. What happens though is when we declare our select xtype within our multifield xtype, the optionsProvider does not fire, hence not populating the options. Does anyone know if there is a known issue whereby optionsProvider isn't called in such circumstances (nested xtypes)?

Our platform is used by English speaking content authors to author content in all languages. We wish to force the WCM authoring interface to use English for all out-of-the-box strings (editbars, context menus, sidekick, etc), while still using the i18n bundle for our own strings. So far: Tried setting the user's (and group's) preferences > language to English; WCM was still localized, even after re-logging in.  Even if it worked, I imagine it would use English for our own localized strings, which is not acceptable. Considered implementing RequestLocaleResolver to set the locale to 'en' for all author requests in WCM edit mode.  Again, I imagine it would use English for our own localized strings, which is not acceptable. Considered overlaying the WCM i18n dictionary, /libs/wcm/core/i18n.  I doubt this will work unless we overlay each of the i18n files with all of the English strings.  Less than desirable. Same as the overlay approach, but instead adding a new i18n dictionary under /app

I'm very new to CQ and if I use the wrong terms, I apologize. The Java app I'm writing runs on a different physical server than CQ. The app uploads pdfs to DAM via webDav and then sets metadata on the pdfs using JCR over RMI. All of that is working peachy. My question is - how can I programmatically publish/(Activate?) the newly uploaded pdfs from my application? Can this be done with JCR? Thanks in advance!

Hi,We are experiencing an issue when trying to import content packages from an existing  5.6.1 installing towards a new 6.0.0 (SP1 / hotfix-5176) Installation. We use MongoDB together with customBlobStore (file based). Although it seem to be in a full MongoDB persistence config as well.We get either Merge Errors or if we increase the save threshold the installation just seems to give up without any error.I don't understand why content made by 5.6.1 is not compatible with 6.0.0.  Anyone an idea how to tackle this or point me in the right direction; Thanks! Kind regards,Kris.Examples of the mergeErrors. *ERROR* [qtp14120923-628] org.apache.jackrabbit.vault.fs.io.Importer Error while committing <path>: javax.jcr.InvalidItemStateException: OakMerge0001: OakMerge0001: Failed to merge changes to the underlying store (retries 5, 122695 ms) com.day.jcr.vault.packaging.PackageException: org.apache.jackrabbit.vault.packaging.PackageException: javax.jcr.InvalidItemStateException: OakMerge000

Hello, I'm trying to figure out the order of precedence/resolution if one configures different run modes for the same instance using the different methods available, such as naming the jar file, passing in system or JVM arguments, and configuration in sling.properties.The following documentation http://helpx.adobe.com/experience-manager/kb/RunModeSetUp.html says the following:Behavior When Run Modes Are Specified More than One WayThe run mode specified in the naming of the jar file takes precedence. If run modes are not specified in the naming of the jar file, the values in the sling.properties file are used. If run modes are not specified in the either the naming of the jar file or the sling.properties file, the system property (or JVM argument) is used.So this implies that the jar overrides the run mode set in sling.properties which overrides anything passed in through a system property (-D) or a JVM argument (-r) Meanwhile, this documentation http://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-0/de

Hello,I started with AEM a few days ago and I have read a lot of documentations - they are quite good and so far all is clear for me concerning the documentation. But I still have a few problems to get the whole picture - so therefore I would like to write what I have understood (I hope it is right) and then I would expose my lack concerning the big picture.0. the AEM architecture with author/publish instances and Dispatchers is quite clear1. Over URIs content in CRX can be handled (CRUD - Sling form commands) -> content first2. over sling:resourceType the script which handles the nodes and properties can be adjusted -> scripts which handles content3. with maven a bundle can be created (in the pom there is a maven profile which makes it easy to install the bundle into AEM)4. with JSP- Scriplets/Declarations/... it is possible to include behaviour (Java code) into view (unfortunately view and business code is nor separated)5. under /content there are the nodes and properties which

I have a Sling Model class and i want to use it in sightly. My Sling model should be map to the JCR node in order to access the node properties. So how to map sightly with Sling Model and JCR node?

Hi All,How can we prevent duplicate asset uploading in AEM 6.0 using the checksum. It should not be only name validation of the asset, but also content wise it should validate before triggering the DAM upload workflow. If there are any steps please let me know. Any links/blogs regarding the same also will help me a lot. Regards,Kaustav Majoomder

Hi!We are using the AEM teaser system (experiences, campaigns, segments under cq/personalization). A teaser's content at the end is a parsys filled with custom data. Within this data we are using i18n resource strings with <fmt:message key="some_key" />.Under my local environment (localhost:4502) the keys are replaced by the translations, like expected. But on our deployment-targets (e.g. AEM Publisher) the i18n-resources are not translated. Only the resource-keys are displayed, like when the key would be not defined. But is is! All other texts on the page are translated properly. Only within teasers the translation does not work?!Has anybody an idea? I appreciate every hint! Cheers,Hendrike

Hi All,I need to implement search functionality on my home page using AEM 6.0.When I write some text like dinning it will show me list of restaurants near by my location. Thanks

Hi,We are facing issue related to dispatcher cache. Sometimes, even after fresh build, files in htdocs are not updated and we need to run /dispatcher/invalidate.cache manually. The problem is when we do a new code deployment, the javascript files if get changed are not getting cleared in dispatcher cache. Do we have versioning number so that the enduser browser cache or dispatcher cache gets updated if it finds a new one?Or ss there a way to make sure UI libraries and other files in htdocs are updated after the new build is deployed. Thanks in advance.
