Ability to deactivate fields

For Custom Forms, it appears that Forms themselves can be Deactivated or Deleted. Fields currently can only be deleted. Please add the ability to Deactivate a field globally, so to ensure no data loss on historical forms.

    I love this idea; we're still in implementation and I can see where this is going to be a need down the road.

    This is a great idea!

    With the implementation of this enhancement, I am recommending that it behave similar to the existing functionality available to us that allows us to hide values within custom fields (i.e., drop down lists). We use this feature regularly and helps us maintain a list of the values which were available for selection historically with the added benefit of not impacting reports and dashboards.
