Ability to Export Custom Forms (Object Details)

With current setup you are able to check the box and export but the only thing exporting is the custom form title. It would be quite beneficial to be able to export custom forms that shows all fields within that form. Currently, I need to do a screen shot.

It's wonderful that this can now be done. But! We would like to do this via the API as part of an automated process.

Mollie, you should now be able to export custom forms from the program and portfolio levels. Check your production environment.

We need to be able to export custom forms from anywhere they are not just projects and tasks! In particular the program and portfolio level!

Apologies for the 3 comments below - I was having difficulties and didn't see it being posted. Also, I now realize that I said the wrong thing. Section breaks go to a new page. I use descriptive text to make it look like new sections for some things and those are treated the same. I'd like to have some sort of 'section break' formatting without it going to a new page.

I love this new feature and agree with Kim Donker's suggestions. I'd also like to see that section breaks in the form be formatted differently. Right now they look the same as as the custom fields and that loses any hierarchy.

My organization would benefit from having more options when generating a project details report:


  • Choose whether or not the cover sheet of the report is needed. The data on the cover sheet isn't useful to us. This could also be placed in a header or footer record and save a sheet of paper.
  • Have a condensed version the with smaller rows and font (we sometimes have 10 pages if we need to print all custom forms). Do not print blank fields as suggested by others.
  • Option to choose between print only and export (saving): Allow users to open the PDF without needing to export. Less clicks for the user that wants to view all the details of the project and then either close it or print it.
  • Allow user to choose the order in which the selected items print when generating the report. We are currently tied to the order in which the custom forms appear in the project details which we have set to most useful for working with the project itself but may not be ideal for printing. It would be nice to choose the order for printing to accommodate different scenarios.

Hope there are more improvements coming to this functionality.

Next step on this, is that it would be nice to format the output.
