Allow screenshots in updates/comments

Please let us add screenshots to comments or updates, as in JIRA. These images do not need to be revision-controlled, like a document, but we need to be able to easily share images within the team, and would prefer to stop using email or OneNote for this purpose.

This is a great feature request. Images could be easily shared with a simple copy+paste action, just like one can do on Gmail, for example. Also, images should ideally display in sent emails or at the very least be attached as files, so that users who rely on email communication sent by Workfront can view the images without having to access Workfront.

I'm telling you three times! 😁 Sorry! Something went wrong there.

Hi, guys! While we wait for the functionality, remember there is an option on the documents section, under the "Add New" button to paste from clipboard. That saves us the trouble of saving the image first, at least.

Regards!

Hi everyone at Workfront, do we yet have an ETA on this for a future scheduled release? This would be a useful feature that would enhance WF to no end and I'm getting asked by almost every user if they have have it.

Very excited and looking forward to this as its probably the #1 question I get all the time. Right now, its a pain as we have to save the image and upload it to the document section. VERY excited and can't wait for this feature and to tell our teams about this.

This is one of the biggest wishes since we have been using Workfront (previously Attask).

But please, not only in the updates / comments but also in the description of Tasks/Issues itself!

To John Schurter:

Here's a workaround I use all the time: copy and paste the document link on the update. I paste the download link so that whoever received the update via email can just click on the link and download the document.

Please also consider adding the functionality to attach documents to the updates. It is annoying to have to leave the updates to go into the Documents to attach a document related to the update. It gets convoluted because you can provide comments on a document (like and update for JUST the document) - but then you can also provide comments on the task for Just the task...it's a bad user experience I feel like

I am excited for this release as we have folks asking for it. As you progress towards implementation of this idea please consider the following:

  • Allow screenshots/images to be pasted into other custom text fields (or even a dedicated image field).
  • Allow screenshots/images to be pulled into custom reports/views so they can be shared in reports where sharecol is used etc.

This is a great idea. That way we don't have to send emails insetad of Workfront updates whenever there are images we need to share.
