It would be great if there was a way to archive old programs and portfolios that we are not currently using/doing business with. It would really help keep our system clean and accurate. We have so many old programs that it becomes messy. For example, we have "2015 incremental", "2015 retainer", "2015 investments", etc under one single portfolio. We no longer use the 2015 programs since we are in 2017 now. We still want to be able to see the history of these programs and clients and projects, just want a way to archive them or deactivate them. Would also be nice to have the ability to reactivate them if we need to use them again. Similar to how you can deactivate and reactivate an employee. Would be nice for Admin users to have the ability to "clean up" and audit our information in Workfront.

Is there a way to archive old tasks on a current project without archiving the entire project?

This idea was opened back in 2017 and I still do not see a proper solution for moving closed objects (programs, projects, issues) in a separate area of SEARCH results and drop-down search results (such as when selecting a program in which to move a project or issue).

Users here have suggested moving them to a separate portfolio with different share access that only sys admins can see, but that doesn't help because 1) we break our portfolio structure where we need users to see historical projects in their portfolio 2) we need folks to still be able to see and find older projects/objects when searching...but they need to be separated.

Possible solution: in SEARCH results AND in object search drop downs (such as when selecting an object in which to move something), force active (not deactivated or closed) objects to the top of the results while closed/deactivated objects go down in a separate search location.

OR grey out closed/deactivated items to show that they are no longer active.

We only have 7 years of data, are a small company, and it's a major issue for us. I feel bad for the large companies.

Example of drop-down search when have older projects with similar names. I had to start add [CLOSED] to the end the project names to more easily see what was closed.
