Cancel issues when the project is cancelled

If a project is cancelled, all of the issues that are associated with the project become moot. However, the issue statuses do not change. It would be great to have the issues automatically get cancelled if the project gets cancelled. Then the owner of the issue wouldn't have to re-open the project, cancel the issue, and then re-cancel the project just to get the issue to be closed out.
