Exposing Project field on request form

Is there a way to expose project level field on a request form?   Sample scenario is that we have key dates that users need to submit project requests which changes every quarter and we want to expose this on an intake request for them for their review.   

I put together a sample request queue project which had a field added to capture a date on a custom form.  I then built out a request queue form for a user which had a calculated field to display the project field value.   This stays as N/A until the form is submitted and then appears populated once i reopen it, not before.  

Any way to expose this before submittal?
