IF you have Workfront Fusion you would use that tool to make API calls to Workfront endpoints to do things such as create a task in a project.  If you don't have that and you're using another tool to make calls, you'll want to visit these two sites, https://developer.adobe.com/workfront-apis/ and https://developer.adobe.com/workfront/api-explorer/

The first will provide information on what's needed for authentication to access Workfront API endpoints.  The second is the API Explorer which are all the objects (like projects, tasks, etc.) that can be accessed via the API and the parameters available underneath them.
