Please don't Remove Right Click in 19.1

A thread in community has alerted us to the fact that the planned Task List updates include removing the right click functionality.

Several of us are concerned about this, as it is not an improvement to user experience and makes bulk editing, as well as just regular task updates more difficult.

While I understand that the ... imply you can make changes -- the reality is it will slow our project owners down.

Please do not remove the right click functionality!! (with sugar on top?!?!)

1.31.19 -- Update for all not following the original thread -- WF is not going to delete the right click functionality from the production environment in the 19.1 release! Yay!!!

Please say a big thank you to all of your WF partners when you chat with them next!

Message from Wade Shearer, VP of User Experience at Workfront:

The past several weeks have been very interesting and informative as we have been testing new features planned for the 19.1 release. Thanks for utilizing the preview environments. We have received a lot of feedback and have had many great conversations with customers. Thanks for your time and your passion.

I'm happy to let you know that the custom right-click menu (within tables) will remain in Workfront. We'll be adding it back to Preview before the 19.1 release, resulting in no change related to this functionality in Production.

As I mentioned in other communications, overriding the native right-click behavior is a tricky thing. We are working hard to improve the usability and accessibility of our products. We're also working hard to help you work more efficiently, with increased speed and clarity. We're also committed to making sure that features are discoverable and intuitive-for all types of users, doing all types of work, on all types of devices. Often these things are in conflict with each other. This isn't just about mobile though. We're not building for the lowest common denominator at the sacrifice of you being as productive and successful as possible. We're committed to developing innovative solutions that help everyone win.

To this end, the button-based contextual menu will also remain in the product. We will continue to monitor and perform research on both solutions. We believe that both can be improved upon and anticipate more exciting things for you to seen soon.

Our users use the right click option to add tasks all the time, so please do not remove this functionality. If it is removed, it will frustrate our staff & slow them down - along with removing a common application functionality(right-clicking).

I use the right click all day every day. This will definitely slow me down in duplicating and adding tasks to my projects but the open in new tab is a MUST HAVE. I hope that you will reconsider removing the right click feature.

I agree that the loss of the right-click will definitely impact productivity, and would really like to see it stay! Thanks!

I'm a right clicking traffic manager/system admin. Please don't make me change the way I use the tool.

thanks!

Our users will go nuts if they can't right-click...

Please do not remove the right click option. This makes editing, especially bulk editing, more cumbersome. In addition, this change would require the retraining of our users as the change will not be immediately obvious to our users.

And keep the parent task line bolded, Workfront.
