Adobe Experience Manager Assets

I want to upload binary image blob to AEM. I know the only way is through Assets API but I am not able to find the right resources to do the same. I would highly appreciate a postman example of doing the same. I tried with this:   with headers as:   But this is failing and so I need some example to do the same. Can someone share some sample examples to do the same through simple curl requests?

Hi All, Currently we are not able to add a fragment reference to a variation of Another ContentFragment in the reference path browser in the ContentFragment model. We are using AEM as cloud. Has anybody tried this or anybody has done any customisation to same?

We installed SP8(AEM 6.4.8) on Prod servers. Since then we were not able to update the assets (pdf file) to dynamic media. After troubleshooting we found that assets are getting uploaded to scene7 but their metadata is still showing as uploadStarted instead of Publishcompleted. Because of this, assets are always shown as processing in the card view. Also no other properties e.g. scene7 asset url, file, domain company id etc. And are not getting updated to these asset’s on metadata node. This was working fine earlier without Service Pack 8 Installation. Currently also, it is working fine on those servers in lower environments where we have installed SP8.   Can you please help me on this issue. 

Hi, As per my knowledge, AEM DAM doesn't allow drag and drop of folders into DAM. But there are people who claim that it is possible with AEM vanilla instance but it never worked for me. My questions for this groups are- 1. Is it possible to drag and drop a folder to AEM DAM 6.5? 2. Was it ever supported in previous AEM versions?   Thanks

I am using image compression in AEM. It does compression, but changes the width and height of the image. There is option to give width and height of the image, but I don't want to change the options every time. I want this to be same as the original image. Is there any way to make it automatically get the size of the image.  

Hi Everyone, As part of POC, I'm trying to import assets from Azure blob to local aemaacs instance. Bulk Import Configuration is created successfully and config check [1] and dry run [2] are working as expected. However, when I run the config to import assets [3] , it fails with a null pointer exception as below. Did anyone faced this issue? Are there any other configs that we need to configure? Looking for inputs. We’re doing metadata update for numerous assets using the bulk metadata export feature in AEM Assets.   Apparently, the export doesn’t have any property for when the asset was uploaded/created in AEM. I would expect: jcr:created or dam:created properties, but they aren’t there in the exported CSV. I’m exporting all properties. Also, I noticed that the dam:created property is present for some assets but not for all. I believe this property exists as part of the asset file metadata and AEM simply extracted that metadata property. Since this property does not exist for all assets, we can't rely on this property.   Anyone used the feature and had a similar use case, or any workarounds?   We need the create date as part of the client's business process for updating bulk metadata. (The create date won't be updated, but it will be used to determine the metadata updates that will be made for the assets).

AEM version: 6.5.11 I need to add a tag to hundreds of content fragments in the same folder. Is it possible to do it in bulk, or do I need to update them one by one?

I know how to run the AEM Assets reports manually but is there a way to run it daily/weekly automatically and send an email/notification to a particular user group that the report has been generated.

Hi,   We are facing an issue. We are using the Title of assets as ALT text for pictures. The issues, According to Adobe there is no clean way to block the publication of an asset if some of the metadata aren't set. This makes the sloppy authors to forget to add these data and get a SEO hit.   Only solution so far proposed by Adobe is somehow to hide the standard publication process and buttons and have a custom workflow. From a end-user/author perspective it feels really painfull, and from a setup perspective it sounds simply overkill.   Is there a proper way to achieve that? David    

Hello Fellow AEM'ers   I am actually looking for approaches to customize the side rail panel in page authoring mode so that I do not want to populate the images from a particular folder in DAM.   For example in below image, you can see all the images in highlighted screen. I would like to restrict that by default for a particular folder in DAM. I know we can use Filter path, but authors will everytime have to go and select their appropriate folder. Really appreciate any help or advice here.        

We have a requirement that the authors should be able to move assets in DAM from one location to other or replace an existing asset, but should not be able to delete any assets in DAM through web or AEM desktop app. We denied permissions to "jcr:removenode" for delete to not work but move and replace are also not working. Is there a way to make this work? Hiding delete button solution is not work as we want delete to not work in AEM desktop app as well.  

Hi, I installed ACS Commons latest package (5.3.4) on my local instance (AEM 6.5.9). After installing I am unable to find CSV Asst Importer utility.   ACS commons documentation mentions that based on requirement, Data Importer/Asset Ingestor or ACS commons CSV Import can be used. 

"Find similar" when selecting an image is not working in our PROD and STAGE implementations. Please advise how to turn this on if necessary. I have users that are uploading pdf assets to the DAM that are previewing with inverted colors (ie red looks blue, white looks black and vice versa). It populates in search with a thumbnail in the correct color, but opening the asset shows inverted colors, properties is also inverted, but viewing pages shows the correct color. It opens on the website with the correct color. Why is the color inverting in some areas and how can it be prevented?

Hi Team,Please find the issue explanation as below. scene7FileStatus - On our production environment, Few assets falls under the incorrect scene7FileStatus everyday.We are trying to find root cause but unable the re-produce issue on lower environment. Steps :1] Upload the asset.2] Enrich the metadata3] Publish the asset to publish environment.4] Asset also upload to scene7 bucket as we have configured it , so upon activation it's uploaded to it.5] Issue : Scene7FileStatus should be convert to PublishComplete from PublishIncomplete.  But for few assets it's not converting to PublishComplete, on republishing the asset it's went to right status, but we are trying to find cause for the issue while it's publishing for first time, it's not fall in right status for few asset everyday. Please advise. What each of the Access Control Entries (ACEs) mean and what they are good for?  Where can I find a cheat sheet from Adobe to indicate what each of the ACE items such as: such as: /apps ; /conf ; /content ; /etc ; /home ; /libs ; /mnt ; /system ; /tmp ; var   are good for and what permission they control.  Does anyone have the OOTB best practices of how to give permissions and select groups for different roles.    For example, I am not sure which one of those controls the drag and drop functionality, which one controls the filtering, which one controls the top navigation menu, etc.

Is there a way to restrict updating the folder properties for a particular group. This group has permissions to create ,update and edit assets and it's properties in the folder but we would like to restrict this group updating the folder properties. Please advise     

I am using the aem-upload tool to upload an asset to an AEM instance. The documentation says "all AEM as a Cloud Service instances will have direct binary upload enabled, so this library will work with those."But, I get the following error.  Error: direct binary access not supported

Hello - We are experiencing a problem with search results not showing up in the AEM Assets Cloud Brand Portal.     The team confirmed the items we were searching for did exist by navigating the folder structure, but search did not yield any results.   In addition, the usage of standard search parameters such as * and & do not work either.     Also, search results are working great in the Author environment, so this problem is definitely isolated to just the Brand Portal.   Any suggestions on how to diagnose and fix would be greatly appreciated. 

We recently migrated to Service pack 12 AEM 6.5 version. When i search for any user and click on view all users I'm unable to redirect to the page containing all the users list. if anyone faced similar issue kindly let me know.

We have an instance of AEM that, seemingly randomly, stopped displaying new png's loaded into the system. Old png's appear fine, but when uploading new png's, only the default document icon appears. These images will not appear on the published site either. We've tried different versions of these files and saving in various png formats, but no change. Jpg's display fine... in fact, we can manually change each png file extension to jpg and it will display. This happened once before about a year ago and it seemed to fix itself without any real intervention. Any thoughts on this?
