Adobe Experience Manager Assets

Hi, we've been using the Scene7 metadata server for several years now, and it recently started responding with "Internal Server Error".  The two Metadata Servers that I know of are http://s7mds1.scene7.com and http://s7mds3.scene7.com.  Is there any plan to fix this, or are there new / alternative servers that I can query to return XML or JSON formatted search results based on S7 asset metadata?Thanks.

Hi All,We are creating the thumbnail rendition(638x638) for video asset using asset.addrendition(name, inputstream, mimetype) dam API.External image will be read and add it as rendition for video asset. For few video assets, we can able to view this thumbnail by double clicking the rendition and open it in different tab.For few video assets, we can't able to view it by double clicking that rendition. No error is appeared in the logsPlease provide your inputs to find the solution for this issue.Thanks in advance !!

Hi,Can anyone add a Java code snippet to retrieve asset metadata? I've been trying now for a few days to retrieve the description and tags, but no success. We can add attribute allowBulkEdit = "{Boolean}false" to exclude properties on pageproperties editor in bulkedit view.I want to see the same behaviour for assets in metadataeditor, but attribute "allowBulkEdit" doesn't help.How can I hide some asset properties on the metadataeditor with multiple asset's selection?

We are using DAM and its been majorly used my our business along with the WCM. We have a huge repository size on Author >1TB. But publish is as less as ~400GB. There are some historical Assets and many old or, expired assets no more used by Authors. But as per company policy we need to retain our historical assets.We are planning to setup an Archival server where we can transfer these assets along with the versions, no more in use by business..We want to complete/pure replica of the assets in archival server, with its version in same order and get all the historical data like jcr:lastModified, cq:lastReplicated etc there.Can anyone suggest a way to achieve it or, did anyone done such settings earlier? Rohan

Have a question regarding the search functionality within AEM Assets. When conducting a search that returns say 100 assets, how are those assets sorted by default? For example, is it number of times that my search criteria appeared in each assets' entire metadata? Does AEM look at certain fields first before moving on to the entire schema (i.e. Title/Description first)?

We have a long-term plan to switch from Scene7 to AEM's Dynamic Media in the future.Does anybody have any success stories, lessons learned, gotchas, or horror stories that you'd be willing to share? Do you have any training or reading material you'd recommend that helped with your transition?

My Indesign crashes on some files when I try to export with an image included in it.• Out of 50 pages I exported, it is only effected 2.  • I tested without the image and the export is successful• I tested with a smaller .png file (attached) and removed it from the wireframe of my chart, and it still crashed. • Is it the size or is it something else?Indesign CC is up to date / Yosemite 10.10.5

Hi,I have custom asset metadata schema with property "Poster image" which is a reference to an image asset.Assume I'm trying to translate custom asset which has reference to some DAM image in metadata.Can I configure AEM to automatically add all references from custom asset to the translation project? 

Hi,Is there any OOTB DAM workflow process which I can use, allowing user to upload file in first step and then it advances to next workflow step passing the value of the uploaded file, where I can do business logic..  I found com.day.cq.dam.pim.impl.sourcing.upload.process.ProductAssetsUploadProcess PROCESS OOTB Update Asset workflow, and looking for more details.In Projects workflow, I am aware there is 'Task' option to create script where we can define uploadAsset..Do we have similar approach available?Thanks.

My requirement is :  We have multiple country sites for our company(nearly 103 different country site). When it comes to Assets, business wants to maintain only 9 regions like en, fr, es, ko, jp....,      the assets path  in dam look like, "content/dam/xxx/collaterals/en/analysit-reports/a.pdf" , "content/dam/xxx/collaterals/en/analysit-reports/a.pdf" "content/dam/xxx/collaterals/es/analysit-reports/a.pdf" "content/dam/xxx/collaterals/fr/analysit-reports/a.pdf". Where as in html page we want place the link like for US site "en-us/analysit-reports/a.pdf" for France site "fr-fr/analysit-reports/a.pdf" to match actual site structure. .The US site asset link should mach en-us/analysit-reports/a.pdf -> content/dam/xxx/collaterals/en/analysit-reports/a.pdf and fr-fr/analysit-reports/a.pdf -> content/dam/xxx/collaterals/fr/analysit-reports/a.pdf and so on.... Based on my java knowledge the  I tried to implement filter, when request match used the RequestDispatcher with new location, but

HiCould someone tell me the mechanism of publishing assets?When published asserts is changed in local author then it is published, How does publishing perfome?Doss It peform as full,incremental or differential?If changing asset is metadata only, does that mechanism perfome in the same way? I am using MongoMk and binary data is stored in MongoDB.regards.

Hi All,Need some inputs. There's a requirement to provide bulk metadata update functionality to the client. The solution suggested is to update Touch UI screen to provide the functionality to update metadata for document sin one go.I know there's such functionality but it requires selection of one asset at a time. Client has more than 27k documents and not defined folder tolology. So the requirement is to update metadata in one go.It has been suggested to extend the "http://localhost:4502/assets.html/content/dam" by providing one more custom option on the screen. Need some example which shows how we can customize the screen.

These files get created at each level in the repository when a user creates content (uploads files) via WebDAV to the DAM.  There are actually two files I think... .DS_Store and _.DS_Store...Is there a way to avoid this / correct it?Thanks, Rob.

What is the use of filter inactive assets check-box in dam search panel? Do we have to configure or set properties for it to work??

Hello,I'm trying to use Dynamic Media Component to show published assets.I've configured Dynamic Media connection (as described on this page https://docs.adobe.com/docs/en/aem/6-0/administer/integration/dynamic-media/config-dynamic.html). When I'm publishing assets (image or video) I can see in error.log that everything is published to Dynamic Media as expected.I've assigned Processing Profile with Video and Image Profiles to the folder where assets are stored.Also I've tried to restart instance, restarting bundle for Dynamic Media. The problem is when I trying to configure Dynamic Media Component on a page I can't choose anything from Viewer Preset (see screenshot attached). Behavior is the same for Classic and Touch UI. However I see lots of default Viewer Presets in Tools > Assets > Dynamic Media Settings. How to use them on a page?AEM version 6.1 without service packs.Please help.

Say we create a file (file created by photoshop, illustrator, etc) and upload the file in AEM (All metadata properties are set within the file). 1) User1 downloads the file and edits the file and uploads the file back to the AEM (Since the file Name is not changed, the user now the user uses the create version option, So a version is created to that asset)2) User2 downloads the same file and updates the asset (this time the user changes the file name as well and uploads the file) The file is uploaded as a new file instead of creating a version. (We don't want a new file to be created, instead we need to create a version)We need a unique identifier which helps us to identify this is an updated asset of an existing asset in AEM and create a version. We are not looking for Image Set features, this should be incremental feature for images. AEM understands the file path as a unique identifier, per the requirement the unique ID should be independent of the asset's filename or location in the

Hi,Is there a way, using AEM or other method of querying Scene7 assets to confirm if images are available. We use AEM DAM and upload the images to Scene7.We use a lot of images for our online products and we have about 1500 that we think are missing images in Scene7. Is there a way to run some sort of query that will take the list of products and confirm if an image exists in AEM DAM or Scene7? This would be more efficient that going to the product page on the site.Thanks, Richard

Customizing the "Assets Admin Search Rail" search form.Adding a new options predicate with a "JSON Path" source results in a filter that doesn't work.Specifically, add an "Options Predicate" and configure the following settings:Field Label - whateverJSON Path - Path to json object in repo (eg. /apps/appname/rights.txt)  which as the following content:// Rights Management{"options": [ { "value": "royalty_free", "text": "Royalty Free" }, { "value": "rights_managed", "text": "Rights Managed" }, { "value": "restricted", "text": "Restricted" } ] } Property Name - /jcr:content/metadata/client/usage_rightsThis will result in a filter showing up with the correct options based on the JSON.  However, selecting them has not impact on the filter and the selected options does NOT show up in the search bar above. Alternatively, if you create a node structure for the options instead it does work as desired.Add a new options predicate to the search form. For any reason I can't run the AEM-desktop-app installer on some PCs running Windows 7 Enterprise 64...I get an 1722 error.previously the Companion 1.1.0.12 was running fine.One of my guess is that the .msi installer could be an "online installer" and I was wondering if I can findd somewhere a "Full Installer" package to download. Many Thanks
