Adobe commerce MySQL version compatibility

Hi! I’m working for a client who uses Adobe commerce entreprise and we are on the verge of updating from version 2.4.2 to 2.4.6 and our servers are currently running on MySQL 5.7 do we need to update to version 8 or is it still compatible?
