AEM 6.1 Asset Ratings - Info Needed

I can find no documentation outside of one line in the release notes on the implementation of ratings on Assets in 6.1 - can someone explain to me how they are supposed to work and what value they are intended to provide?

  1. Login to aem and select the asset in Grid view
  2. Click view properties & then edit.
  3. Under advanced tab you will see rating option give the ratings.
  4. In card view Or grid view you will see the ratings.
  5. Similarly n number of authors who have access to asset can give their ratings.
  6. Aggregate Rating along with # of users who rated will be visible on Asset card and also on property page.
  7. Off course User would be able to modify his earlier rating, later and the change reflect immediately.
  8. You can modify search panel to list asset based on ratings.

The value add will be helps to know the popularity assets within authors.
