AEM jar 6.5: [ERROR] Request to http://localhost:4502/crx/packmgr/service.jsp failed, response=Unauthorized

Hello, I have been trying to setup an AEM project from the WKND tutorial:

I've also followed the steps in the link below to setup the server instances especially author running:

Everything got going with build success until I got stuck when it came to Step 3 of Project deployment with this command:

 

 

$ mvn clean install -PautoInstallSinglePackage

I'm using a Mac system (Big Sur v11.2.3) and already tried first with Windows but also the same.
Have also researched this issue with fixes from similar forums here (including adding <useProxy> tag to pom.xml) yet no luck 😞
Here are other details of the software requirements I'm using:
Java v1.8.0_281
Maven v3.6.3
AEM Quickstart JAR v6.5

BTW when the author instance runs or when I visit http://localhost:4502/crx/packmgr/service.jsp, it redirects here with a register form.

Do I have to fill this up since my company hasn't provided a license key to me yet?

You need a license file for the AEM to be registered otherwise it won't work.

This can be due to if you are using different passwords for AEM author instance 
You need to change your pom.xml file and replace the default password with your password that you are using for the Author instance

    Ok just registered the creds. BTW my feedback on this issue is this wasn't part in the tutorial so it was a an obscure process to diagnose. Overall thanks for this!
