AEM vanity URL

Im working on a project that has multiple markets and AEM is our CMS. Wanted to know if we can use same vanity urls for same page across different markets.

I know vanity url in AEM does not allow duplicates within a single instance. But has anyone seen a work around that would facilitate the same.

To be more specific :

Market1 / Page1 : vanityURL1

Market1/Page2 : vanityURL1 ( should not be allowed )

Market2/ Page1 : vanityURL1 ( should be allowed )

Thank you .

Are there specific steps to create and validate duplicate vanity urls -

Scenario : if the content author enters a  duplicate vanity url provide an alert message .

The vanity URLs are global and is not tenant-aware. If you have such a tenant-based system, vanity urls cause more problems than they solve :-(

Does adobe has any plans to make vanity URLs tenant aware?

That is hardly possible without fully working out the definition of "tenant", which should be better "domain" in this aspect. I am not aware of any work in this area.

But vanity URLs are a concept of Sling, so my idea is that this question can be answered there as well.

HTH,
