Asset sharing with Non AEM application

Hi All,

Is there a better way to consume aem asset in non aem application?

Let's say, I have assets stored in AEM Assets. Now I need to consume this assets in traditional java application.

Otherwise you can also write a custom service to consume any content from AEM.
