Clarifications needed for -Updating AEm 6.0 Service Pack 2 on our Production AEM instance through Package Manager.

Hi Guys,

 

We are updating our AEM production set up  by updating with AEm service pack2 update and hto fix cq-6.0.0-hotfix-5918-1.6 .

We are trying to update these packages through Package manager and install.

and restart once both packages gets installed.

 

Are there any issues with this approach? Do you guys thinks after each package installation we need to restart AEM instance i.e especially these service packs or hot fixes?

 

Any advice  on this regard is really appreciated.

Not all package need restart unless specified.  But atleast for sp2 you should restart after installing. Make sure you wait few minutes after installing & before restart.  For your use case I strongly recommend to restart before installing 5918
