Disable Activate, Deactivate button where ever available

Hi There,

I have below requirement,

Author should publish the page using Workflow. So I need to disable the activate/deactivate button for the author where ever the options are available.

Kindly guide me how to achieve this.

Hi,

The easiest way is to remove the "replication" privilege for the respective groups. Then the buttons are still active, but instead of doing a direct activation/deactivation the worklows "Request for activation" and "Request for deactivation" are invoked. And then you can customize these default workflows. No overlay required then.
