How to make "cq:template"-based component defaults work in Touch UI?

Hi,

Looks like the solution presented in http://experiencedelivers.adobe.com/cemblog/en/experiencedelivers/2012/06/defaults-in-your-component.html does not work in Touch UI out of the box.

Is there a way to make it work with Touch UI too?

Thanks.
