image cropping not working in chrome

Hi,

from my understanding when 5.5 does not support image cropping in chrome, when I try to crop an image with chrome what I notice is that the image disappears in either free crop mode or aspect mode this however works in firefox. My understanding is that this issue would be resolved in 5.6.1 and so recently we upgraded to 5.6.1, however when I tried to crop using chrome again after the cq5 upgrade we still get the same problem. We are using an image component and all cropping is done after the image is dropped into the image component.

I have checked all the logs but there does not seem to be anything obviously wrong, any help would be greatly appreciated.
