On selecting the Rich text editor(RTE) on AEM as a Cloud Service- special characters cursor is not moving forwards.

Hi. Recently, I've been working with AEM OOTB RTE and created a plugin to use some special chars. The issue comes when I use them in the text input area. For some reason, the cursor moves to the left when I insert one instead of moving to the right as per normal text flow. Please let me know if any of you have been able to resolved  the issue.
