A pathbrower lets an author select a node in the AEM JCR.  The following illustration represents a pathbrowser. As you can see, there is no thumbnail when using this resource type.

I confirmed with out Touch UI team - there is no preview functionality.

    There is no way to perform this use cases out of the box.
