Upgrading to AEM 6.3

Hi there,

Am planning to upgrade our AEM version from 6.1 to 6.3, do you have any checklist/steps on how we do the migration of our sites from 6.1 to 6.3 like what needs to be tested.

    Planning Your Upgrade​ is a guide focusing on upgrading from 6.1 to 6.3, and also covers the migration to the Oak based repository. It also includes a list of testing areas once the upgrade is complete.

    Some of the common issues to review first:

    • Platform customization
    • Migration API Deprecated
    • Dialog Migration, classic to touch ui using migration tools + certain customizations for all custom components.
    • Ensure Content Structure is maintained otherwise we should consider the creation roll out tasks to avoid issues with existing content/data
