AJO integration without using AEP

Hi Everyone,

I want to make an integration with Adobe Commerce with AJO, however, without using AEP.

My question:

Can we store information in AJO schema and get the real time profile like behavior (like AEP) without using AEP?

If no, what are the drawbacks?

Adobe Journey Optimizer built natively on the Adobe Experience Platform. So, it is not possible to store profile based data in AJO w/o AEP. However, datasource functionality can be used to pull external data but this is not profile enabled.

Below is the way to pull commerce data in AJO

Connect your Adobe Commerce instance to the Adobe Experience Platform https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/commerce-merchant-services/experience-platform-connector/fundamentals/connect-data.html?lang=en

Create or update your XDM schema with Commerce-specific field groups https://experienceleague.adobe.com/docs/commerce-merchant-services/experience-platform-connector/fundamentals/update-xdm.html?lang=en

Hi @supratim320

AJO is an application that is built on top of AEP and its unified profile, as such AJO without AEP is not a concept that makes much sense, While waiting for the Commerce source connector to be available, you can certainly inject Commerce  data into AEP, mark the relevant schemas as Unified Profile and these will then be available in AJO (and elsewhere) for using it in Journey and Offer...

Hope this helps,

Thanks

Thanks to both @anuhya-y and @costa_n11.

One follow-up question on this:

When Adobe sells the product for the AJO use cases, is it then always AEP+AJO? And never stand-alone AJO.

I am coming from Campaign background, hence trying to understand the strategy here.

Couple of AEP functionalities like destinations, segment activation, data science workspace (which are part of standalone AEP) are not available with AJO. You can treat AJO is a subset of AEP (schema, sources, datasets, segments) along with marketing automation capabilities like delivery via different channels, reporting, subscriptions etc.
