[Workfront AMA] Ask Me Anything about Adobe Workfront Certifications

Event Concluded, thanks for attending!

We're back with another Ask Me Anything (AMA)! Hop into this session on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, from 9 AM - 10 AM PDT, where we'll be opening up the floor to any questions you might have about acquiring an Adobe Workfront Certification!

In this AMA, we'll have our Adobe certifications manager Nick H. (@nick_hilton) joined by our Community Advisors Skye H. (@skyehansen) and Kurt J. (@kurt_jones) to discuss best practices and strategies for acquiring a certification from the lenses of an Adobe Employee and customer. Keep in mind this is a text-only event, there is no link/video to join! Just post your question as a reply to the thread and it will be answered during the 1-hour “event."

What is an Adobe certification and what are the benefits?

A certification is a credential that recognizes an individual’s skill and competency in an Adobe application. A candidate who passes the certification exam becomes an Adobe Certified Professional, Expert, or Master. Certifications require commitment, are legally defensible, and validation from Adobe of your expertise.

Individual benefits may include career advancement, boosting job performance, proving your skills, gaining client trust, and increasing earning potential.

When you receive an Adobe certification, you can download a digital badge to share on your social media accounts.

Not sure what questions to ask? Check out some of the sample questions below (and feel free to ask them during the AMA!):

How can I assess my readiness to take the exam? Are some questions weighted more heavily than others?

hi Lori, all questions are worth 1 point.

My training instructors have always started out each course (whether for fusion, PM, or admin courses) warning their students that purely taking the course or purely reading through the documentation is probably not going to enable you to pass the certification exam -- there is a component of real world experience. I believe the current rule of thumb for professional certs is 0-12 months, and for expert is 1-3 years. In terms of assessing your readiness, I would recommend you take the practice exam at speed. Keep in mind that the actual exam is timed, and if you can't confidently answer the requisite number of questions in the time allocated, then you're not ready.

I found the exam prep guides for many of the certifications to be fairly useful in that if I read through all the links and already are familiar with and understand the material, I am probably ready, whereas if this is the first time I'm seeing this material, I probably need to walk away with it and practice to gain familiarity before scheduling the exam. Hope this helps!

It's been a couple of years since I've taken these tests. I recall getting a little flustered when I realized 5 minutes prior that I had to clear everything from my desk. Could you please give us any insights into how best to prepare our enviornment before the test?

Amazing question, Monique! Some of the proctors have different rules as well.

It might be too early to know, but is there any word if the certifications be offered again at Adobe Summit next year?

Hi Jared,

Yes, free certification exams should be offered again at Adobe Summit next year. We have not gotten official confirmation on this, but that is the plan. You will see announcements for this a couple months prior to Adobe Summit for official confirmation.

Thanks,

By when can we expect the Expert/Master level courses available in the portal. It says Coming soon, any tentative launch date you can tell us?

Hi there! We currently have a couple expert-level courses, but nothing currently related to Workfront. We are working on a expert level roadmap, but don't have a timeline at the moment.

A course in the Certification course catalog for Workfront Fusion would be helpful. I agree that there are videos/tutorials available for Workfront Fusion in the experience league. But, I feel a course in the catalog would make the learning process easy for beginners/intermediates.

Thanks!

Hi - a few questions about Fusion certs:

1. The available non-paid, online training for Fusion is... lacking. Is there any plan to improve on that? Not all companies will pay for certs and the $3K price tag of the instructor led sessions is high.

2. Is a Fusion space an option for the test spaces you are offering to prep for exams? If not, when will it be?

Hi, having taken both trainings several times (the non paid and the instructor-led), I can confirm they are pretty similar to each other with more handholding on the instructor-led side.

Instructors for the sessions are pretty adamant as well, that taking their course will not (in and of itself) enable you to pass the Fusion cert.

If you are struggling with the non paid training, I can recommend you post questions in the Fusion community to get the answer. However, Fusion more than any of the others, does rely on your practice in a Fusion environment. Reading the exam prep guide will also be a huge help.

What is the best way to prepare for the exam? Should I start by taking a practice exam and focus my study on areas that I did not perform well on?

I think you should view the practice exam as being a very general example of some of the types of questions that might be asked in the certification (and the way they might be asked) and not necessarily indicative of all areas. Most useful would be reading through the "exam prep guides" which are available under the "Study for exam" tabs of most certifications.

Hello, wanted ask about recommended practices I should take as I prepare myself to take the exam.

Taking the practice exam will help - this is a very general example of some of the types of questions that might be asked in the certification (and the way they might be asked) BUT not necessarily indicative of all areas. Most useful would be reading through the "exam prep guides" which are available under the "Study for exam" tabs of most certifications -- this would help you discover where in the documentation that the majority of the questions might be coming from.
