Bounced Email Cleanup

Hi community, I just wanted to validate my thoughts on two smart campaigns. 

For leads that have been marked as bounced by Marketo's system smart list and set to email invalid = true - delete these emails from our system.

For leads that have met the following criteria below, marketing suspend or delete?  Thank you for your input!

I would not do it this way. Try this:

  • Hard Bounced (Email Bounced) x2, then Email Invalid=T
  • Soft Bounces x3 in 30 days, then Marketing Suspend = T for 30 days
  • Soft Bounces x6 in 90 days, then Email Invalid=T

Do not delete automatically! You will hurt your database because it could remove customers or other required data. I would go in once a year or twice a year (before Marketo's renewal) and find groups of non Customers that are Invalid, not active for past 90 or 180 days, etc...and then export, then delete from Marketo only.
