Can we send enable duplicate sends in one Marketo partition?

We need to send to many customers (business customers) with the same email address in the same campaign. The data is coming from various APIs going to a single list but Marketo de-dupes and only one of the business accounts. We have several instances and many partitions. ideally, we would like to be able to send dupes in only one partition.

There’s no per-partition (or even official instance-wide) setting like this. The way to send to multiple people who qualify for a Smart List and have the same Email Address value is to fork a new Smart Campaign for the dupes using Request Campaign. This is described in earlier threads if you search.


(Note though that Marketo’s rule of “one outbound email per Send Email step + Email Address combination” is a smart one. Carefully consider the consequences of working around it. You can exceed the rate limits set by a recipient's mailserver and be blocked as a suspected spammer if you send to multiple dupes.)

Have you already made sure you're setting the campaign to run every time under the Schedule tab? That should allow multiple emails to be sent as customers run through, as long as it doesn't break communication limit rules. (this would also be a good thing to check on in Admin)

That’s incorrect. For a single Send Email step when multiple people with the same Email Address qualify, Marketo will only send to one person.
