Creating random codes for custom program member fields in smart lists

Hi everyone,
I like to create a random passcode for program members (a non sensible one 😉 ).
This code should be created by a smart list and should be saved in a custom program member field.

I already know how I can create such codes using velocity and email scripting but it seems as if I can't use scripts to set new field values within a smart list (static tokens are usable).

Do you have an idea if this is possible?
Do you have an idea how?

Bes regards

What exactly do you want to do with these codes? Please be specific so we don’t have an XY Problem.

Hi @sanfordwhiteman
I want to create them triggered or as part of a smart list flow.
I want to store them in a custom program member data field.
I want to request and include them into my assets and functions like every other custom program member data.

Kind Regards

I mean the business case for the codes: how they will be used and validated in practice.

An XY Problem is when somebody asks about a very specific technical implementation that is believed to be appropriate — when what’s really needed is a set of requirements, which may or may not be best met by that implementation.

You will not be able to save random codes into PMCFs without a webhook-powered service. Hence I wonder if that’s really what you need for your business case.
