Disabling Sync of Zoominfo Leads from SFDC to Marketo

Currently, we're looking to implement a restriction on the synchronization of our Zoominfo leads to Marketo from Salesforce (SFDC). Our SFDC instance is integrated with Zoominfo, meaning any leads created within SFDC are automatically synchronized with Marketo.

Given this setup, we're exploring the possibility of disabling this synchronization for Zoominfo leads.

There are 2 ways to do this:

 

(1) With SFDC Sharing Rules, restrict visibility of the API user.

(2) Have Marketo Support enable filtering using a custom Do Not Sync boolean. You can use whatever logic you want to decide whether that boolean should be flipped.

 

Most people choose (2) though sometimes combine it with (1).
