Does changing a field in 'Lead Detail' count as a data value change for that field?

Greetings.

Quick question that I hope is a simple yes or no.

Does updating a field within the lead database or loadLeadDetail trigger a data value change that can send a message or must it be passed through API or Salesforce?

Attached an example. Names of fields not important just the concept.

Sure, that's a DVC activity. Check the Activity Log and you'll see the parameters (click the Activity ID to view the ActLog details) if you want to add constraints.
