Does "Sync Lead to SFDC" only push, or pull data also?

Hi,

Does the Sync Lead to SFDC function only push the changes from Marketo to SFDC or does it also pull in any changes made on that side, including but not limited to lead activities?

Thanks,

Andy

Hi Andy,

My understanding is that if the lead already exists in SFDC it will update data on both sides.

It also depends on how the Marketo user (Admin) is set. Which fields can sync.

And also, lead activities are not synchronized, only lead fields are.

So essentially if a lead activity is logged in SFDC, there's no control on when it syncs over? We've seen at times that the SFDC activity will sync over, but not till 15-20 minutes later, and by that time the smart campaign running to check if an activity has been logged has already run.

Looks like we'll have to push the activity via the REST API. What a disappointment.

Hi Andy,

Most recent update date/time wins.

Great, thanks John.

I asked because we're looking to build out an SLA tracker, so I need to have all lead activities synced from SFDC to Marketo before checking to see if the SLA was violated.
